Fathers Day Gift Guide

So I’ve been a little bit more prepared than I was in my christmas/mothers day gift guides with my Fathers day gift guide. In the fact that I’ve actually given you enough time to buy the products in time for the big day! I’ve racked my brain so you don’t have to and gathered together a selection of bits and pieces that’ll have any Dad smiling from ear to ear this Fathers day . . I hope! The Trouble With Fathers Day For me, I find my Dad impossibly hard to shop for. And for that dad, I apologise. It’s not an uncommon occurrence for my dad to end up with socks or a mug saying ‘best dad ever’ usually accompanied by some chocolate covered brazil nuts and liquorice all sorts. This Fathers day I’m determined to make it up to him – I mean my Mum got a coffee machine – that’s not too fair! I just find men really hard to shop for which is why I have so much of a struggle when it comes to Fathers day. I feel like men never really need anything and my Dad in particular is a no faf kinda guy – my mum buys his clothes and when I offered him this smartphone speaker he spent a good 10 minutes deciding if he would actually use it . . he actually had to think of an occasion that it would be useful. Who does that with a gift? An aftershave is a great gift for a Dad like mine that’s looked after by your Mum. He’d never buy it for himself. Jo Malone is always a good idea, plus it’s unisex so if like me you still live at home you can use it too. Cardholders are another good Fathers day gift for the guy that doesn’t shop for himself. This black croc effect one from Amara is ridiculously well priced! Daniel Wellington watches are a great more affordable brand that is so sleek and smart and not too fancy for a man like my own Father! They also have super affordable alternative straps so if he’s already got one it’s a good gift idea as a stand alone item, or an added extra if you’re getting him a watch! They also have a free complimentary strap of your choice with every watch sold before June 13th so take full advantage of this! You can also use the code SINEAD for 15% off anything from Daniel Wellington until 30th June Socks are always a good idea. Yes they’re cliche, and no, you can never have enough. A pair that are a bit more fancy say I love you Dad. I’m loving this stripy pair from Amara. Shop The Edit Now I know that this photo frame has feathers in it but you can take them out if you’re not too keen – I got this with a view to putting in a photo of me and Dad. If in doubt get sentimental! Parents will always love anything hand made by you – make sure you play on that…

Shop With Me!

Shop With Me!

I thought I’d do a little post on how I like to shop and how you can shop with me. I know it seems a bit random but bare with me and you’ll get the gist! My favourite place to get inspo on what to buy is to look at my favourite fashion bloggers – yes, believe it or not, as a fashion blogger I still get inspo from other bloggers. Some of my favourites are Emma Hill, Monikh Dale and Hannah Crosskey go and check them out now! Wellll, actually, maybe you could just finish reading my post and check them out afterwards . . So basically, when I want to buy something new, you know when you’re in the mood to shop, you’ve got money in your bank account for once, and the internet is just a sea of possibilities – too many possibilities. This is when I look to my fave’s, if you haven’t got the time or the patience to scroll through so many different websites I always look at what they’ve been blogging about and obviously as instagram is an ever inspiring page for making me spend I love looking at their liketoknow.it pages – more on this in a minute. Take these sandals for example, I saw these whilst I was strolling the streets of London, happily minding my own business slash stalking on instagram. When Hannah posted a picture of these amazing chloe dupes (see the chloe ones here) proclaiming they were only £24.99 from Mango . . off I went to Mango, no luck – clicked on her liketoknow.it and there they were, sitting in my basket- at the checkout – in my hands. It’s almost too easy! Shop With Me on Liketoknow.it So liketoknow.it I’ve been using for a while now – both as an influencer and as a consumer. I can therefore give you all of the insight! I’ve made a little diagram of how it works below to show you more simply! But basically, you sign up at liketoknow.it – I’m pretty sure you only have to put in your name and email then confirm – it’s not a long ass form asking what your mums first pet was called. Then once you’ve signed up, it links your instagram to your email, so that if you liked say, my instagram picture, and I’ve linked it to my liketoknow.it then you’ll get an email with links to where everything I’m wearing’s from and you’ll be safe in the knowledge that you can browse these emails at your leisure! BUT if you don’t want these emails you can go to my liketoknow.it page www.liketoknow.it/sineadcrowe and all of my insta pictures will be listed with the products below – the same as on the email example but in a long list! Now, I know some of you hate the idea of this as I’ve heard many a time that the emails bother you – personally I like being able to browse them and keep them for payday but each to their own. So, for all you haters out there…

Head to Toe for Under £50

Head to Toe for Under £50

Yes, you read that right. I got this whole outfit (minus the jacket) for under £50. So that jacket isn’t included but it’s just a finishing touch and are you seriously saying that a top, skirt, shoes and sunglasses isn’t enough, there’s just no pleasing some people! The Joy of Supermarket Shopping – An outfit under £50 Supermarket shopping (for clothes) is something that is seriously underrated. I guess by now you’ll have realised that this look is from a supermarket, Tesco’s to be specific and their F&F range. Personally, I think the idea of being able to buy your bananas and clothing in the same shop is as off-putting to me as it is appealing to a Mum of 3 with no spare time. I mean, us fashionistas would never be seen at the checkout of our local Tesco’s with a top in hand. . would we? If I’m totally honest – in the past I have been known to be quite the supermarket shopper and I’m not just talking socks, pants and pjs. When you can get an outfit for under £50 why on earth wouldn’t you be? Choosing Key Pieces When I do go supermarket clothes shopping, I like to stick to a few rules if you like. I feel like this outfit truly is an exception though, because I would never normally advise going head to toe, though it’s obviously something that can be done! Firstly, when I buy from F&F, I tend to go for pieces that I know I won’t be wearing day in day out. You can’t pay £10 for a top and expect it to last you a lifetime. This is why I like to go for more trend led pieces that I know I’ll only want for a season. If they last longer, great, if they don’t? They’ve done the job they were destined for! I was kindly gifted a £50 voucher to pick something to style up, when I started looking I found everything I wanted for under £50 and even managed to treat myself to a pair of socks. I was so shocked! I mean, I knew it was cheap but this is just something else! Shop Online Firstly, I’ll let you into a little tip i’ve discovered. You can get you’re bits delivered to store for free, and that can be any Tesco’s store – including the little Tesco metros! They don’t have to sell clothes. Shopping online is the way forward for me, depending on where you live you’ll be lucky to find anything you see in the lookbooks and ad’s in Elle Magazine etc in your local Tesco. I live in a small town and my nearest city is Peterborough – not exactly the fashion capital of the UK, I’d say they’re selling more crocs and velour tracksuits than what I’m after! Sorry if you’re from Peterborough but you know it’s true. Tell me now – have I changed your mind on supermarket shopping!? *Jacket : Fashion Bazaar *Top : F&F @ Tesco *Skirt : F&F @ Tesco *Sandals : F&F @…

Learning To Trust Yourself

Learning To Trust Yourself

I was triggered to write this post after listening to my sister ask me what to wear for the 100,000th time that day. Sorry Lauren, I do it to. It made me realise how indecisive we both are, constantly relying on the opinion of others. Its such a terrible trait to have that not only annoys others but it’s pretty draining as someone who doesn’t trust yourself! Learning to trust yourself & your own judgement After going to therapy for stress and anxiety I learnt to have more conviction in my decisions and to trust my own judgement. With anxiety comes questioning your own judgement and at my worst I’d even ask other people what I should eat I mean how is my Mum supposed to know what I want to eat? No one likes that kind of pressure!! I’ve realised in myself that half of the time when I ask a question, I already know what I want to do, I just want someone to confirm what I want to hear. And if they don’t? I ask someone else. It’s pretty annoying to be honest which is why I wanted to write this post about how you should trust yourself. Do you do the same? Are you a serial question asker? Here’s my tip, now, whenever I’m about to ask someone what I should do, I think about what my therapist used to say and stop and ask myself “what do I want to do?” and do that! Stuff everyone else, half of the reason I think I question myself is because of how much I care what others think. But shouldn’t what I think be the most important thing of all!? Do you trust yourself? Let me know if I’m not the only one! Shop The Look Shop the look by clicking on the images below! I had to get my enduring boyfriend to take some photos as I finally had the opportunity to bust this dress out I bought weeks ago! Pretty much makes the perfect minimalist combo with these sandals dont’cha think?!
