Layering Outerwear

Layering Outerwear

What do you do when it’s too cold to wear your favourite coat? Put another coat underneath of course!! Layering is my latest fashion revelation when it comes to being warm and my god, do I like being warm.

Not only does layering outerwear have the attraction of extreme warmth and cozyness, but it’s also a fast track ticket to looking uber stylish and finding new ways to re wear old pieces.

As someone who wears a limited colour palette (though leopard print and pink have since been added to this which I am very happy about) I’m all about textures. Adding that little flash of a leather jacket or maybe some fur (the world is your textural oyster) can make a beige outfit – I don’t literally mean all beige  but each to their own – come to life. Think silky cami, leather jacket and this coat . . heaven right?

Talking about that coat (as I will be a lot so get ready for it), if you fancy being really brave and mixing up your patterns or clashing as some call it, a coat or jacket in between will act as a spacer and break it up perfectly so prints can live in harmony.

I saw this jacket on one of my fave instagramers a dash of fash here and thought she’d done the layering coat trick! If you’re feeling uninspired then pick the jacket up to make like you’re working the double coat action . .  no one will ever know.

Ooh I love this look ♥︎ It was actually only last autumn that I started to layer outerwear myself too, but it’s been quite some time since the last time so I definitely need to get back to it again! xx

I LOVE your teddy bear coat!!! Did you see the way a dash of fash had layered the fur under the denim? You could totally rock that!
