Why The Acne Scarf Is A Great Investment

Pink Acne Scarf Selfie

It’s only really in the past year or so that I started to see the benefits of investing in luxury items rather than collecting hoards of high street pieces (not saying I don’t still do that too) let alone the fact that I might actually be able to afford to do so.

Something I’ve been eyeing up for probably about the same amount of time but never really saw  it as a reasonable purchase was the Acne Scarf, in the brands iconic pink of course!

Why did I not think it was a reasonable investment? Because it’s essentially a strip of fabric and costs over £100. Why Do I now? Keep reading.

The Acne Scarf

The Acne scarf is probably the most iconic of the brands items and 100% the most affordable. At an entry level price it costs around the same as a good high street leather bag or boots and will probably last a lot longer. Let’s face it, does a scarf get any wear and tear whatsoever? OK, maybe if you’re as accident prone as me the gravy & make up stains will be multiple but thats nothing a good hand wash can’t sort.

I chose the iconic colour because it’s immediately clear it’s not a high street scarf, it’s special. They do it in all colours and yes I do plan on collecting them all eventually but though grey would be the obvious choice for outfit building, it is in my opinion that you don’t go with plain when you go designer. Contrary to popular belief I think designer pieces should be classic but statement. I wouldn’t pick a black crew neck jumper or a plain black & gold bag (unless it’s Chanel) I like my pieces to stand out. They have to add something to an outfit and complete it. This scarf fits the bill.

Investment Buys

If you’re looking to start investing in designer or perhaps you’re looking for a new buy to add to your collection and your purse strings are a bit tight post christmas, I would always go with smaller accessories. Scarves (silk and wool) and belts are a great option for adding the finishing touch to an outfit and making a plain look seem more expensive. Take the Gucci belt, in this outfit it makes a £27 jumper and £40 jeans look instantly more expensive and creates a more pulled together look, it’s the finishing touch!

I have been eyeing an acne scarf for years, although I am a bit of a bore and would probably get it in grey! I absolutely love this pink colour though and you style it so well xx
