Giorgio Armani // Make Up Review

I was very lucky to be contacted by House of Fraser a couple of weeks ago about trying out some new bit’s of make up from Giorgio Armani. Now I’m not a big beauty enthusiast, nor am I an expert, but I am starting to do beauty posts and I do want to know my shit, and I will know my shit, eventually. Hey, everyone’s got to start somewhere right?! I do actually use make up as well so I feel like, as a make-up using/wearing woman, you may be interested in my opinion . . did I convince you to keep reading yet?! Giorgio Armani // Maestro Glow Foundation I’m used to using the Mac Studio Sculpt foundation which, I was in the opinion of it being lightweight but apparently it isn’t, it’s pretty darn heavy. Which may be why I was a bit underwhelmed by the coverage of this one, to be fair it is a totally different texture to my usual foundation. This one is a lot more lightweight and spreads really easily, which means you don’t have to use a lot. The glow it gives is amazing, although when I first put it on I wasn’t convinced, my boyfriend said he preferred it to my usual one . . not sure if his opinion counts, I tend to think he just says what he thinks is the right thing to say. I always like my foundation to have SPF in it, gotta protect against ageing ladies, and the pipette is good for measuring how much you need, no wastage is never a bad thing! Why does make up come in such flatlay worthy packaging, I’m not ashamed to say I may be keeping some of this for future pictures, hey, thats how I roll . . Giorgio Armani //Lip Maestro You may have noticed from my previous post about matte lip products that I’m a fan of a matte lip. Having had the pleasure of testing out this high end lacquer, in comparison to the budget products, it’s totally worth paying the extra. The colour is amazing, just look at that pink, it’s not too bright, kinda browny and stays just as vibrant on the lips. It goes on so much nicer than the budget ones, it’s much easier to control and you can’t feel it on your lips the same. You know that tight feeling when you put a face mask on and it dries? That pretty much sums up how the cheaper ones feel. Giorgio Armani // Lash Ecstasy I’m pretty much in love with my current mascara, so I feel like this one never really had a chance. OK, the packaging is beautiful and we all know I’m a sucker for a pretty picture, but I’m just not sure it’s the right mascara for me. It’s easy to use, the brush is good and easy to control, I didn’t get mascara all over my eye lids, it coated them well, my lashes look good, it certainly ticks all of the…

5 WordPress Plugins All Bloggers Need

5 WordPress Plugins All Bloggers Need

So if you’re not on wordpress you may find this post slightly unhelpful. I don’t know a lot about the other blog hosting sites, do they have plugins? You could read this and try and find a similar alternative? Anyway, these wordpress plugins have made my life so much easier and I wanted to share the love, because sharing is caring! I’ve realised that these blogging tips posts are super popular so I’m doing a youtube Q&A on blogging this weekend! So make sure that you subscribe to my channel if you aren’t already so you don’t miss out! WordPress Plugins You Need Yoast SEO Yoast SEO is basically the lazy girls guide to aceing your SEO. Ok, not lazy, because let’s face it, if you were a lazy person then you wouldn’t be blogging. Sure to an outsider we just get sent free stuff all of the time, but actually it takes us hours to put together each post let alone the time spend promoting it – rant over. So maybe, the cheats guide? I don’t know, I’m just trying to find a catchy sentence and it ain’t working! Basically, it creates a form for you to fill in for each page and post which covers everything SEO wise that you should be doing. The traffic light system means you can see how well you’re doing and it even gives you suggestions on what to do to boost your rating. How good is that!? I used to just settle for an orange light, so long as it wasn’t red I figured it was ok, who’s going to just stumble upon a blog anyway? Turns out, SEO works, SEO helps, there’s a reason why it’s there, so make sure you get green. . ok? Disqus Disqus is a commenting system for your blog. I didn’t really get the point of this when I first got it and I only got it on the advice of my blogging guru CocoChic Blog. She has her shit together so naturally, I did what she said. From what I’ve learnt through using it, essentially it makes the comments easier to monitor and reply which makes it easier for a discussion to form. Comments to me are super important, it’s so valuable to get the readers views on the post and to form a  discussion! It’s also lovely to receive a comment because not only has someone read your post and enjoyed it, they’ve taken the extra time out of their day to let you know how much they enjoyed it. One more thing! Disqus is also good because it makes it clearer for the reader to see where to leave a comment! It’s something you just take for granted but comment boxes aren’t always the easiest to find! It also eliminates those pesky spammers! upPrev I mentioned this one in my previous post on how to lower your bounce rate in 5 simple steps and small wordpress plugins like this one that you don’t think will make a difference keep your…

Asos Denim | Meet Your New Best Friend

Asos Denim | Meet Your New Best Friend

Generally when I buy jeans I like to stick to what I know, so when asos denim contacted me about trying a pair of their new sculpt me jeans out I was a bit hesitant. You see, I view my jeans like an old friend who’s always there for you, reassuringly comfy and always forgiving. Sure they may wear over time but it just makes them better. Anyway, personifying objects aside, I love them. I know you’re probably getting sick and tired of me saying this in posts but I DO, and I fall in love easily, I’m a floozy what can I say – when it comes to clothes that is . . Before I start talking about outfits and all the usual malarky – it’s not malarky please still read it. I thought I would take a minute to talk about the fit. Because if you’re like me, then you’ll be thinking twice about ordering something like jeans off the internet, getting the perfect pair is no joking matter and can take a while – hence me usually sticking to what I know. This style are almost like jeggings, a similar fit to the Topshop Leigh jeans, but the material is thicker and has more stretch and support in it. They’re just so damn comfy the kind of comfy that means you keep them on when you get in at the end of the day – am I the only one that changes into my pyjamas straight away? *Jumper : Lovers + Friends @ Revolve Clothing *Jeans : Asos Shoes : Converse Asos Denim // Meet My New Best Friends So as these are now officially my new best friends (sorry Jamie, it was good whilst it lasted. . we can still keep in touch?) I thought I would do a little ways to wear. I was going to do 3 ways, the standard casual, smart casual and night out/evening, but I feel like I wouldn’t wear such light jeans in the evening for this time of year. Just you wait till summer’s here . .we’ll be inseparable. For my casual look I’ve dusted off my Converse. I do actually wear these a lot for work as I’m on my feet all day but because of this I often overlook them in day to day. Do you get that? When you tar something with the work brush? I do love the casual feel they give an outfit though, sometimes you just want to look easy breezy and for some reason my boyfriend loves me in Converse. . honestly I have no idea. Love this striped jumper from Lovers + Friends at Revolve Clothing, everytime I put a picture of it up on my insta I am flooded with compliments. Can’t wait until it’s warm enough to not wear a jacket so I can show off the back of it! It’ll be so nice with a little skirt and boots for Spring! Coat : Topshop Top : Zara *Jeans : Asos *Heels : Public Desire Asos Denim // Take Two Firstly, let me…

How To Nail Mothers Day

How To Nail Mothers Day

I genuinely feel bad for the Dad’s of the world because Mum’s are just so much easier to buy gifts for. When Mothers day rolls around I’m spoilt for choice. Being the handy andy that I am, I thought I would lend a helping hand with some of my top picks for this mothers day. I am a born gift giver, if I know and love someone, I’m amazing at buying gifts for them – people may be reading this and thinking no your not, particularly my boyfriend who said my gifts were ‘quirky’. I went through a stage of not having a lot of money and a lot of my gifts were homemade, I say thoughtful he says quirky. Potato, patata. Anyway, I love buying gifts, so therefore I must be good at it no? *Mug : Amara This cup is honestly the cutest thing I’ve ever seen! So I know mugs can be a pretty generic Mothers day gift but I feel like nice one’s don’t come under the generic umbrella, it’s reserved for mugs with best Mum ever written across the front. Who wouldn’t feel like a million dollars drinking from this? They do one with the eye’s open too, could make a cute little set, just saying . . Candle : Diptyque // *Book : Amara // Hand Cream : L’Occitane // Perfume : Jo Malone In my opinion, smellies are KING. Smelly candles, perfume, smelly hand cream – obviously I mean good smelly! My boyfriend got me this candle for Valentines and I have to admit, I’ve not quite got my full use of it for flatlay purposes to start burning it. I can tell you from enthusiastically sticking my nose against the wax and sniffing that I know it’s going to be a dream. Mums love candles, candles love Mums, the end. This L’Occitane hand cream is divine, the smell is incredible, is it sad that it’s my special hand cream that I don’t use everyday? Any form of pampering will always go down a treat, after all, Mothers day is about Mums relaxing! Coffee table books, I’ve said it before, I’ll say it again, what woman doesn’t love a beautifully presented hard back book? If not to read, just to look pretty on the coffee table coffee table books are a ‘thing’ you know? This one’s all about hosting and with motherhood comes the position of hostess, she needs this. *Vase : Amara  // *Book : Amara // Lip Balm : Chanel Flowers are an old friend you can always rely on for Mothers day gifts, only good flowers mind you! None of this petrol station carnations nonsense! I’m talking roses, peonies, orchids . . what are her favourites?! Do you know what’s even better than flowers? flowers in a vase, something that smells beautiful and looks beautiful, and something lovely to keep! I love the size of this one, it’s not exactly a bunch of flowers vase though! Dip dye and pastels are so my thing right now, or would be if I had…
