Shirt Dress

Can we just take a minute to appreciate how nice this shirt dress is? When Forever Modo contacted me to say they’d like to collaborate (love those emails!) I was excited but also nervous. Let me just explain! Nervous because I’m a picky bugger and they were sending me something of their choice. Honestly though, I needn’t have worried, clearly the girls at Forever Modo had been stalking my style to see what I normally wear and they pretty much hit the jackpot when they sent me this! I don’t actually own a shirt dress, neither have I ever owned one before, but I love it. The tiny print, the relaxed shape and the roll up sleeves are all massive ticks for me. I probably wouldn’t have picked this out if I’m completely honest because I tend to stick to what I know, but I’m proud to say I’m now a shirt dress convert! We were having one of those rare days in the UK when the sun’s shining so I decided to bare my legs and wear my wedges for a kinda smart casual look. I have to warn you actually – this dress is incredibly sheer, you have to wear something underneath! I have this white tube dress/ skirt/ piece of material that I always wear under things like this, you could probably wear black too though if you wanted to give it a different look! I’ve definitely renewed my love for this handbag, not long after I got it the lovely girls at Brown and Berry sent me a handbag and then my boyfriend brought me a new one (ok, I’ll stop bragging) so it kind of got shoved to the back of my wardrobe. I can’t believe I did that to such a beautiful bag, yes it may weigh a ton but it’s worth the wonky shoulder and it’s perfect for Autumn, bonus for you guys, they still sell it online! If your reading this blog and thinking “hey, this is pretty good” I would be eternally grateful if you would nominate me for the cosmopolitan blog awards! I’ve put the link on the side of my blog but you can also nominate me here! Leave me a comment if you do so I can thank you individually!!!! *Shirt Dress : Forever Modo | *Wedges : Next Old | Bag : Zara | Necklace : Magpie on the Run Would you let someone else pick out clothes for you!? After this revelation I would definitely do it again! I think it’s great to try out new things! Follow me on Bloglovin

Stockholm Mini Haul

Stockholm Mini Haul

I couldn’t resist a spot of shopping when I was in Stockholm, it’s pretty trendy for me to be honest, like hackney on another level of hipster. I did however manage to find some shops that we’re more on my level amongst the sea of vintage shops, so I thought I’d do a little haul post to show you the pieces I picked up. To be honest it’s pretty much all from shops we have here but there’s something novel about shopping in another currency, I always feel like I’m getting more of a bargain.. very dangerous! Gina Tricot I picked up this short sleeved jumper from a shop called Gina Tricot which I’d never heard of before, it’s a similar style to H&M I guess but a lot cheaper. I seriously struggled when choosing between this rust colour and grey, I was shocked that a) I didn’t get both, and b) I didn’t get the grey. I always buy grey and I do want to wear colour, honestly, I just find it difficult because I love grey and it loves me. Anyway I’m glad I chose the rust because it’s super nice and it suits me, even if I do say so myself! You can see me wearing it in my Autmn Rust Post. Zara If I go in a Zara and I don’t buy anything my mood is lowered by at least 50%, it’s just not healthy. If you read my blog you’ll know I’m a sucker for a white t shirt, this one is honestly so soft on the inside and I love the structured shape and texture. Mango I got this vest because it’s so soft I can’t even explain to you, and it had a red sale sticker on it, who cares what the price is, it’s on sale! Then when I was paying I saw this monster of a ring, I’m not usually one for a chunky ring but I actually love this and my long gangly fingers can definitely take it! When I was looking to link it on Mango I noticed how nice their jewellery collection is, seriously, have a look. H&M You can’t go to Sweden and not go to H&M, it’s just rude. I have to be honest, because Zara’s so cheap in Spain I was expecting H&M to be Primark prices so I was pretty shocked when they were the same there as they are here. I still brought stuff though, duh. Has anyone else been to H&M in Sweden before? They have an entire make up range of their own and also stock other brands like Max Factor and Real Techniques, they do hair dyes and dry shampoo and all sorts! I was really excited by this and couldn’t resist a lipstick which is actually so nice and my new favourite! I also picked up this pretty lace bra, I usually get all of my pretty bras from elcy clothing but I couldn’t resist this fishnet style beauty. Jumper :…

Autumn Rust

Autumn Rust

I’m about to say something controversial here, don’t hate me for saying it but.. I’m so glad it’s nearly Autumn. I know everyone’s supposed to love Summer and don’t get me wrong I love sipping a cocktail whilst lounging round the pool like the next girl, but lets be honest here, it ain’t never gonna happen in England. So we may as well embrace the season that we can depend on for weather, Autumn. Summer fashion can be a bit boring compared to the textures and layers in Autumn, I’m a sucker for a chunky knit and I’m not comfortable admitting how many pairs of boots I own ( they’re all unique in their own special way I promise!). This is kind of a half hearted Autumn look, I guess you could say its perfect for the transitioning, that definitely sounds better! I’ll tell you why its ‘perfect for transitioning’ , I’ve got a jumper with half sleeves, it’s warm but it’s not a full on jumper, and I’ve got open toe boots on, not quite ready to put my toes away for winter just yet! Lets just take a minute to mention these beautiful rings from Nikki Stark Jewellery. I love that they’re made from 9ct Gold and Silver which means they’ll last forever. If like me you’re forever walking round with green fingers then you’ll know what I mean, I never remember to take my jewellery off which means I’m lucky if I get to wear them more than a couple of times before the dreaded green finger sets in. I chose from the Wishbones range which considering they’re made from 9ct Gold and Silver they’re also super reasonably priced ranging between £12 – £35!   Jumper : Gina Tricot | Jeans : Topshop | *Boots : Linzi Shoes | Bag : Zara | *Sunglasses : Plastic Tail I don’t know if you can tell the difference as much as I can but one of my besties has returned from travelling and as she’s a photographer I managed to persuade her to shoot for me. Yay! I’ve also changed the way I edit my Instagram photos for a more sleek look, it was starting to look a bit like a jumble sale. I know not many people probably care but I hate it when my Instagram doesn’t match up! Anyway, I’m rambling! Let me know what you think of my new photographs! Can you tell the difference?? Also, hands up who’s secretly loving dressing for the cold weather?!

Eyebrows on Fleek

Eyebrows on Fleek

This is a new kind of post for me. Don’t get me wrong, I like to look as nice as the next girl but I just don’t have the patience to put in the time. I’m definitely trying though, I’ve been watching make up tutorials and learning about contouring and now, I think I might be ready to go out and buy some adult make up. Yes I’m actually considering spending over £10 on foundation and using something other than my dirty hands to put it on my face. Bearing this in mind, when my super talented friend Nat offered to sort out my eyebrows I jumped at the chance. A professional had never laid a finger on my brows before. Unless you call my Mum a professional? I’ve never even had a manicure or my legs waxed, I’m a true DIYer when it comes to the beauty side of things. I had absolutely no idea what to expect when I was told she’d put me down for ‘HD Brows‘. Little was I to know that I was to be dyed, waxed, threaded and plucked to within an inch of my life. I was honestly surprised to see there was still something left when I took a look in the mirror. Not only had she given me a set of killer brows but she’d also done my make up to show me where I needed to fill in. Can you believe the difference in my before and after? I can’t believe no body told me I’d been walking round like that! Shame on you all! I’m proud to say that i’m now on a ‘brow programme’, just call me Cara. You can see Nat’s beauty page here. Are you a DIYer like me or do you leave it to the professionals? Most importantly, are your eyebrows on fleek? *Sunglasses : Plastic Tail Follow my blog on bloglovin

Holiday Look Book

Holiday Look Book

Whilst I was away I managed to drag myself away from the pool to shoot a little holiday look book. I don’t know about you but I find it impossible to get dressed on holiday, sun burn and humidity means I always end up wearing light weight and floaty pieces. So this year I actually planned out what I was packing rather than randomly selecting things that look nice with no thoughts about actual outfit building, I do that every year and every year I struggle! I know ‘holiday season’ is pretty much over now but hey, we don’t have to go when the kids are off and between me and you I usually avoid that time, not only is it ridiculously priced but who wants to share the pool with noisy children?! I was far too busy to shoot looks in Italy and by the time I got to Sweden I was only interested in eating and shopping so I’m afraid you only got my looks from Rhodes! *Sunglasses : Zero UV | Top : Topshop | Shorts : H&M Old| Shoes : Topshop *Top : Fashion Bazaar | *Shorts : Fashion Bazaar | Shoes : Topshop Vest : Topshop Old| Shorts : Topshop | *Bag : Brown & Berry | *Sandals : Linzi Shoes Playsuit : Ebay | *Bag : Brown & Berry | Sandals : Topshop – now in the sale!! *Dress : Laundry Boutique | *Sliders : Linzi Shoes | *Bag : Brown & Berry Dress : Pampelone | Sandals : Topshop – now in the sale!! As soon as I get back from a holiday I’m desperate to book another one! Where’s your dream destination!?
