Tracking My Travels

Travelling is still something I think of as being months and months away, yet all of a sudden it’s in just over 2 months – WHAT!? I’m super excited but all of a sudden I feel totally unorganised and un prepared – my boyfriends already done a trial run of packing his bag . .  this . is . not . a . joke. So I thought I’d start keeping an eye out and gathering together the bits and bobs bearing in mind my travels – I’m not going full scale crazy . . I’ll leave that till the week before! So obviously, the first things I’ve started to collect for myself are totally useful and necessary for going on your travels. No, not a pac a mac or a silk sleeping bag liner . . a Scratch Map® poster, a lipstick, a notebook, a bikini and some Bali body. Yes, I could have got more practical pieces but a girls gotta look good on her travels because . . instagram. Not gonna get those poolside, sunset sipping on a cocktail shots without my Triangl on now am I?? I’m also pretty soppy and sentimental when it comes to things like this. No, not the bikini . . travelling. I love the take lots of pictures, keep receipts and just generally make sure I never forget a moment from my travels! This is why I had to get myself this notebook when I saw it in TKMaxx. . aka my favourite place to get any form of stationary. It’s the perfect journal to keep all of my travelling memories in! The scratch map poster is another great way of keeping track of your travels and remembering where you’ve been. What I love about this most is how damn good it looks, I’m pretty sure by now you know I’m all about the look! If this was an atlas with pins in, it would not get put up. The white and gold is beautiful and would make such a wonderful gift for someone who loves to travel or for yourself! My sister actually got her boyfriend a scratch map poster for his birthday and got it framed beautifully (without the glass!). Such a lovely gift and also for yourself. I love the idea of being able to see this on your wall as a constant reminder of where you’ve been and the memories you’ve had! I didn’t want to start scratching until I’ve been somewhere so I decided to just put arrows for now to show you guys! You can see the full list of where I’m going here! Obviously, I had to scratch it in some way shape or form though so I started with the UK I’ve been there! And all of the other places I’ve visited. Since scratching and physically seeing it I realised that actually I haven’t been to many places outside of Europe other than Bali! It’s made me even more excited to get out there and experience more of the world! Where have you been in the World? Where…

Is it too late to start a new years resolution?

So I’m not exactly big on exercise and the only time I’ve ever stepped inside a gym is to use the tanning beds, so when Pink Soda offered me some sportswear it wasn’t the obvious choice. Obviously it looks good but I can’t just walk around wearing it and looking like I’m in a hurry en route to the gym can I . . or can I? Firstly, before I continue, no I still haven’t been to a gym and yes I did go for a Mcdonalds after shooting this. Half year resolution? So with the fact that I still haven’t set foot in a gym in mind, I ask, is it OK to set myself a half year resolution?? I know you can just choose to go to the gym whenever you want and decide to start a new habit or ditch an old habit but I feel like when I have a reason I stick to it. So this half year my resolution is to exercise more. When I say exercise, lets take this word very lightly. I have a sort of excuse if you will. I’ve got a lots of scarring on my lungs from a bad chest infection as a child, which means that I can’t do a lot of cardio – even swimming a length in a pool has me gasping! So I’ll exercise in my way. I’m going to do Yoga at least once a week and I’m contemplating joining classes. Although I prefer to do it in the comfort of my own home I feel like skipping a class will guilt me into sticking to it in a way that doing it at home never does! I’m also going to make sure I go on more walks. I actually love walking so so much and feel like any problem can be solved by going for a good walk. Lets go easy and say twice a week? Look I’m a beginner ok! I think it’s a great idea to take the time at the halfway point of the year and re asses your goals. I’m definitely going to sit down and take the time so set myself some new goals particularly for the blog! Learning To Trust Yourself

I was triggered to write this post after listening to my sister ask me what to wear for the 100,000th time that day. Sorry Lauren, I do it to. It made me realise how indecisive we both are, constantly relying on the opinion of others. Its such a terrible trait to have that not only annoys others but it’s pretty draining as someone who doesn’t trust yourself! Learning to trust yourself & your own judgement After going to therapy for stress and anxiety I learnt to have more conviction in my decisions and to trust my own judgement. With anxiety comes questioning your own judgement and at my worst I’d even ask other people what I should eat I mean how is my Mum supposed to know what I want to eat? No one likes that kind of pressure!! I’ve realised in myself that half of the time when I ask a question, I already know what I want to do, I just want someone to confirm what I want to hear. And if they don’t? I ask someone else. It’s pretty annoying to be honest which is why I wanted to write this post about how you should trust yourself. Do you do the same? Are you a serial question asker? Here’s my tip, now, whenever I’m about to ask someone what I should do, I think about what my therapist used to say and stop and ask myself “what do I want to do?” and do that! Stuff everyone else, half of the reason I think I question myself is because of how much I care what others think. But shouldn’t what I think be the most important thing of all!? Do you trust yourself? Let me know if I’m not the only one! Shop The Look Shop the look by clicking on the images below! I had to get my enduring boyfriend to take some photos as I finally had the opportunity to bust this dress out I bought weeks ago! Pretty much makes the perfect minimalist combo with these sandals dont’cha think?!
