DIY Choker // 2 Simple Steps

1 + 1 = 2 and love for the choker plus no money equals a DIY choker project. You may have seen my previous post on my love for the choker and Danielle Bernstein from We Wore What. In my eyes you just cannot say one without the other, they go together like cheese on crackers or peanut butter and jelly! Anyway, after publicly outing my new obsession I was on the hunt for a choker in my budget, my budget being about £1, I would have stretched to £1.99. I know I said obsessed but when I try something new I like to buy it cheaply first (if its possible of course!) to see if it’s worth investing in the real deal/ the deluxe edition! This is where my little project came in, what’s better than a £1 choker? Thats right! A DIY Choker, zero pennies spent here. Soooo, I thought I would share my little DIY project with you lovely people as it’s literally the easiest thing to do in the world, so easy that I actually contemplated whether it was worthy of a full blog post or if I should just snapchat it? (snapchat username : sineadcrowe – like what I did there?) I’d already shot the pictures so here we are, a full blown blog post for a two step process. DIY Choker Gather your materials So mine literally didn’t cost a penny as I already had this old necklace from when I was younger, you can probably buy this cord/thread from somewhere like Hobbycraft or a haberdashery shop! Alternatively, and something I was debating before I found this gem,  a shoelace could work well? Step One // Cut Cut your thread, ribbon, shoelace, cord, whatever you can lay your hands on, to the length you want your choker to be. I didnt really have much choice with it already being cut, I do like the length of it but I’ve seen ones that wrap round a couple of times and they look pretty snazzy! Step Two // Tie Self explanatory no? Wrap your chosen rope/thing (descriptive I know) and tie in a bow round the front. Or if you have the length and want to it would look good wrapped round a couple of times then tied in a bow! Ta-dah, your very own handmade choker! Shop Chokers If you’re not down with the whole DIY thing, I’ve linked below some of my favourite ones to buy below!! If you do make your own DIY Choker then make sure you let me know and tag me in any pictures so I can see!! Also make sure you’re following me on Bloglovin’ to stay up to date and never miss a post!!

Making Happiness a Habit

Making Happiness a Habit

I love a good dose of happiness, who doesn’t? So I thought I would do a little post for you guys getting back to my mindfulness roots with a few of my top tips to create little habits that will bring you more happiness in everyday life, I call them the happiness habits! Speak the Lingo I am SO guilty of this! Using passive words, like ‘I wish‘ or ‘I should‘ or ‘I might‘, passive words! Use active words, next time you find yourself saying ‘I should do this‘ turn it into ‘I will do this‘. I used to always say ‘I wish I was a big fashion blogger like We Wore What, I love her appartment and her wardrobe looks amazing’ now I say ‘I can’t wait till I’m as successful as her and have a wardrobe like that!’ some people see it as arrogance, I see it as determination!! Don’t be a yes man I am 100% not guilty of this! I used to be before I learnt not to be. There is a huge sense of freedom to saying no when you don’t want to do something. Why should you say yes just because you’re free? If you don’t want to do something then don’t. Laugh Your Way To Happiness I’m reading a book called Laugh your way to happiness at the minute and the science behind laughter is pretty incredible! It’s the same with smiling, with laughing you can fake it and still reap the benefits. Forcing yourself to smile will still instantly lift your mood as will faking a laugh! Forcing yourself to laugh also makes spontaneous laughter come more easily! Spread Kindness A small act of kindness can make a huge impact on someone else’s day and let’s be honest, it makes you feel pretty damn good about yourself too! Now I’m not saying you should only do these things to make yourself feel good but . . well why not if it’s helping someone else out as well? Even just letting someone go before you in the queue or carrying someones suitcase up a set of stairs, every little helps! I once gave an old lady that had hurt her ankle a lift back to her car when I saw her limping up the road, I buzzed off that good deed for a good week or so! Listen I’m the worst for this one, I can’t focus on what someone’s saying for more than 5 minutes before I’m thinking about what I’ve got to do later on. 10 minutes later I’ll tune back in and think, shit.. just nod and smile. It’s almost like another good deed really because lets face it, you can tell the difference when someones actually listening to you and when someone does it gives you a true sense of worth. Showing genuine interest in someone and what they’re saying doesn’t take any extra time than day dreaming about what you’re going to eat for tea but it does make a difference to the speaker! Let…

Love Style Mindfulness // Instagram Roundup 2015

Love Style Mindfulness // Instagram Roundup 2015

I’m sorry about the bad quality of this image!!! I’m pretty awful on the computer and had to paste them all into word and screenshot it! Definitely not the best way! Anyway, I wanted to do a quick roundup – I’ve been super sly though and only started from when I started with the ‘theme’ of my instagram because otherwise it just wouldn’t go. If you’re an instagram OCD like me you’ll sympathise! I can’t wait to share more moments with you guys, I’m trying to put more everyday posts up but I find it hard to remember to take pictures ( which I guess is good because it means I’m enjoying life?) and to be honest the lighting is awful at the moment. Lets all take a minute to pray for summer! If you’re not already then make sure you’re following me on Instagram and Bloglovin’ so you can keep up to date with my goings on!

2016 Goals // Exciting Plans for Me and LSM

2016 Goals // Exciting Plans for Me and LSM

2016 New Years Resolutions -Yoga I’ve started Adriene from Yoga with Adriene‘s 30 day challenge. I got into Yoga a bit last year but I find it really hard to stick to excersizing and it was a half hour drive away which meant I just stopped going when my friend wasn’t there to make me feel guilty and drag me along! This is something I can do from home which definitely appeals to the lazy side of me and I feel like if I do it for 30 days then it will become a habit. After January I plan on doing it at least twice a week! -Me time This is a selfish one but aren’t all resolutions kinda selfish? Anyway, I spend a lot and I mean a lot of time on my phone and I’m constantly ‘working’ or plugged into social media. Therefore this year I plan to make time for me, I guess the yoga is classed as me time as well but I’m talking about indulging and relaxing. I don’t remember the last time I sat down and read a magazine, I’ve got a subscription to ELLE and I’ve got no less than 10 copies sat in the corner of my room begging to be read. So each evening I plan to take some time, even if it’s just half an hour, to read a magazine, paint my nails, do a face mask and just switch off. -Read more When I was younger I used to read so much, now I’m lucky if I get through a couple of books a year and I pretty much only read on holidays. From now on I’m going to try and read for half an hour at least before bed each evening! Reading is such a good way of relaxing and getting to sleep and not to mention great for your writing and imagination which, as a blogger can only be a good thing right? 2016 Blogging Goals -Youtube This year I’m doing it! Youtube, watch out there’s a new kid on the block. . well there will be. . if I stop being a big girls blouse and finally sit down and do it. The thing is I’ve got a list of excuses and reasons I can’t do it yet as long as my arm and really all I need to do is start. I will this year, I promise, you have my word! Any one familiar with youtube I would love to hear your thoughts on best ways to edit and if i need some kind of special light for it?! Or is that just for the super youtube pros? Also if you’re just a reader of the blog I would love to hear if you’d be interested in a youtube channel, firstly, would you even watch it? Secondly, what kind of videos would you like to see?! -Bloglovin This year I need to crack Bloglovin, I seriously do not get it! Or should I say i don’t get how to get myself out…

2015 // The Year in Review

2015 // The Year in Review

I’ve seen a few of these posts going round such as Olivia from What Olivia Did’s Anti Bucket List and I couldn’t resist jumping on the bandwagon and creating one of my own. After all, 2015 has been a pretty eventful year for me, overcoming huge obstacles and making very difficult life decisions! One thing I learnt from my therapist this year was to try and turn every negative into a positive, so thats exactly what I intend to do, not that the whole years been bad – far from it actually! My 2015 Losing three months I pretty much lost the first three months of my year, I was signed off with stress and anxiety from my job as a Buying Assistant and kind of sleep walked through the weeks without realising how much time I had been mentally absent for. I guess it took me that amount of time to realise that actually my work friends were really anything but friends and had caused me to be the way I was. I think that realisation and the decision to not give a damn about them and what they thought anymore was what gave me the strength to realise that it wasn’t me. So at the age of 25 I packed it all in and decided to take some time to get back to who I used to be and start again! Starting a new career I went for a few interviews in a similar field whilst freelancing as a stylist. It got to the point that I was pretty much working full time styling, something I’d never considered being an actual career because it was far too much fun to be a real job. Then I thought, hey, life’s about more than money and if I can do a job where I laugh to the point of tears every day then why the hell not? Creating a blog On my quest to become a freelance stylist I decided to make a website to show what I did and although the thought cringed me out, the obvious choice was a blog. I never knew how much fun I would’ve had blogging and what great friends I’d have made! Otherwise I’d have done it years ago! 1 year anniversary with my Boyfriend My first real boyfriend and hopefully my last! I don’t generally like being soppy in public but I honestly cannot understand/ am so grateful to him for standing by my through my anxiety – or as I like to call it my bitch months. I was a nightmare, and I wouldn’t have blamed him if he hadn’t stuck around, but I truly feel that having gone through such a difficult time together has given us a true understanding of one another. Basically he’s my rock. Seeing my sister get married Me being the youngest and her being the oldest with over a decades age gap, me and my sister don’t always see eye to eye but seeing her get married in Greece was such a lovely moment. It was…
