Wearing the Pyjama Suit

Before my little inspo post on the pyjama trend last week, I’d only dared to wear this shirt with jeans for a more subtle pyjama look. However, after feasting my eyes on the pyjama suit and the different ways to wear it I wanted a slice of the action! Obviously I am and always have been pretty reserved when it comes to trying new trends so I decided to style it in a way that felt comfortable and still me. Shop the mismatched pyjama suit Shop my look by clicking through the images below! I’ve recently purchased this cami from Topshop below to wear underneath, I think it’ll look great with it as a jacket too! For this outfit I went a bit more risqué with an Elcy Clothing bralette – whatever floats your boat! I never thought I’d see the day that me a serial jeans wearer donned a pair of black trousers in the name of fashion. It’s happened, and I kinda like it. These ones are just £24.00 from Missy Empire and are super comfortable as they have so much stretch in them, they also zip down the side which I always find so much more comfortable for when you’re sat down! I went with a pair of plain black trousers because I thought that it was a more subtle take on the pyjama suit trend, I could’t see myself stepping out in a head to toe look, the black and white still goes together but makes it a bit less in your face. Obviously, I had to go with the monochrome look, because . . monochrome. And I went with flats because I thought it gave it a real kind of relaxed, androgynous look. I actually love this look, it’s so understated glam. You’re dressed up and smart but it gives that I’m just effortlessly stylish look we all crave. The £12 Top You Need

The £12 Top You Need

This top is £12 my friends. OK, it’s £12.60 but “the £12 top you need” is a lot more catchy than “the £12.60 top you need” no? I’ve been eyeing up tops like this for a while since they’ve been all over the insta girls who live somewhere weather appropriate for a while. At £12.60 I’m tempted to go back for every colour . . Why you need the £12 top Because I say so. who doesn’t love a bit of shoulder? It’s so understatedly sexy it hurts The bow sleeves. Do I need to explain? This top will go with anything The elasticated neckline stays. This is hard to find in an off the shoulder top – particularly one for £12.60 Did I mention it was £12.60 Buy it. Shop Cold Shoulder I’ve linked all of the colours and a few other ridiculously cheap off the shoulder tops – incase the £12 top  from Sheinside didn’t tickle your fancy but you want to get in on the shoulder action! Layering Your Jewels We all know I’m a big fan of layering when it comes to my clothes, but layering jewellery is something I’ve only really just started doing. I love those ready made necklaces from the likes of Zara with a few readily layered, but I honestly cannot be bothered with green fingers and stained tops. I feel like the older I’ve got the more I appreciate metals that won’t go ‘off’. I was sent a selection of pieces from Jewellery Box to choose from and I kind of had a Eureka moment and thought, “what if I put them all on. . at the same time?” and I did, and it was good. Sometimes I feel like these little dainty necklaces can get lost if you’re not wearing a low necked top so layering them helps them to stand out more. I feel the same with dainty rings, I’m generally a lanky person and that applies to everything, including my fingers. As a lanky fingered gal I find dainty rings can sometimes accentuate the lanky-ness and get a tad lost. Enter layering. These two rings on the same finger have way more of an impact than if they were on separate fingers –see what I mean? Jewellery box has the biggest range of pieces like this for such affordable prices, I honestly didn’t know when to start when I was looking. It’s so nice to have such a great range for affordable prices and better still it won’t turn your skin green. When it’s only £7.35 for a sterling silver necklace dipped in 18t gold you can afford to layer! *Arrow Necklace : Jewellery Box *Infinity Necklace : Jewellery Box *Rope Effect Ring : Jewellery Box *Infinity Ring : Jewellery Box *Top : Sheinside Jeans : Asos Shoes : Kenzo @ Coggles // High St Alternative Bag : Zara // Cheaper non leather Alternative Sunglasses : Old // Similar Alternative All photography by Kirk Schwarz – Instagram – Website Don’t forget to follow me on Bloglovin’ to stay up to date with…

A Lazy Girls Guide to Getting Dressed

A Lazy Girls Guide to Getting Dressed

From one lazy girl to another – just assuming cos you’re here reading this – but let’s face it anyone would like to look good with minimal effort, wouldn’t they? I bring to you the lazy girls guide to getting dressed. basically, being comfy and not trying hard yet still achieving that I just threw this on look after actually just throwing it on. Shop The Post Shop my look by clicking on the images below! Lazy Girls Guide To Looking Good You probably noticed from my enthusiasm for the pyjama trend that whilst I do like to look good, I am not one to agree with the phrase it hurts to look this good because no. Unless were talking about shoes, in which case it’s a whole different ball game. Comfortable clothes are a must, I always feel more confident when I’m comfortable in what I’m wearing and have you never heard of the phrase you’re never fully dressed without a smile? Choose a Statement Piece For me, it’s this white Jigsaw jacket I’ve been living in. The collarless, tailored style finishes off any look and looks like I’ve made an effort. Even if in reality I’m wearing baggy ripped jeans and an old jumper, oh wait. . I am.  I think the fact that it’s white is what makes it more of a statement piece but anything tailored is great – never thought I’d be one to say that. Accessorize Accessories are key in my lazy girls guide for when you want to jazz up your jeans and jumper, I’ve added some fishnet socks with my Zara shoes (more on those shortly) and my trusty Zara bag which is still my favourite and will continue to be until I get my hands on a Gucci. Some think it’s a little over priced at £90 but to me it’s worth every penny – I’m down to about 1p per wear. If you did want to get something similar for a little cheaper, Mango do this incredible copy for just £39.99. So those Zara shoes are beautiful, I’ll give them that. . but let’s just take a moment to refer to my previous note about painful fashion. They cripple my feet. I’m currently wearing only trainers from pulling my foot muscle trying to keep them on, did I mention the slingback is too long for the shoe? the only way to keep them on is by clenching your toes and making a blister plaster wall underneath the strap. Not quite the look I was going for. I still wear them though, because fashion. *Jacket : Jigsaw Jumper : H&M Old Jeans : Asos Shoes : Zara Bag : Zara Socks : Asos Be a doll and follow me on Bloglovin’, it’s the best way to stay up to date with all of my posts don’t you know!?  I would love it if you also subscribe to my youtube channel and don’t forget to share this post with any fellow lazy girls!!! Flared Sleeves And Fishnet Socks

Flared Sleeves And Fishnet Socks

I’m not always one for following trends, I stick to a standard uniform of blue jeans and a white t shirt and thats how I like it. These flared sleeves and fishnet socks though, they’ve got me hook line and sinker. The flared sleeves are something you can’t avoid at the moment and as one hell of a clumbsy/messy gal it’s not the most practical of trends for me, but who said fashion was practical? This and a love of saucy foods means you’ll mostly find mine dip dyed with brown stains from an unknown food source. Top : Zara / Alternative here Necklace : DIY post here Jeans : Asos Socks : Asos *Heels : Public Desire Bag : Zara SOLD OUT / Alternative here Flared Sleeves and Fishnet Socks The second I saw these fishnet socks on Hannah from Afashionfix I was a woman on a mission, must . have . socks. As with anything I’ve been loving recently I brought these whilst listening to one direction to drown out the cries of “please no!” from my trend hating boyfriend. . . he says I don’t get fashion. Personally, I’m thinking the flared sleeves and fishnet socks make pretty much the perfect combo, a little bit girly and a little bit edgy means the perfect balance. Sort of like wearing a pretty girly dress with a leather biker jacket. !   Shop The Look Each image is linked with where to buy – you can thank me later . .   Top : Zara / Alternative here Necklace : DIY post here Jeans : Asos Socks : Asos *Heels : Public Desire Bag : Zara SOLD OUT / Alternative hereAll photography by Kirk Schwarz – Website – Instagram  Thoughts on fishnet socks? A Lesson in Spring Layering : Part 2

A Lesson in Spring Layering : Part 2

Continuing with spring layering, we can navigate this tricky time period together – when the weather itself doesn’t know what the hell it’s doing so how on earth should we? I was sent this laaaaavely long coat recently and wanted to style it up for a while but I do like to keep my outfits relevant ish to the weather. Spring Layering For me it’s all about the layers. Hence the name – Spring Layering – duh? But in this case I’m not talking about for warmth, I’m talking textures and fashion people. Yes, the leather jacket is a necessary layer that will keep you warm in this outfit, but that flash of black leather from underneath the lightweight coat just gives your look that certain – je ne said quoi. Combined with the croc leather bag (my must have until the Gucci is mine) it just gives a classic look a tougher edge and a little somethin’ somethin’ different. Obviously these glove shoes were a must and I’m trying to get someone to buy me a black pair from Topshop for my birthday next month. Unfortunately everyone I know hates them and refuses to buy them  . . guess they’ll have to be a gift from me to me.
