Style Heroes With Dorothy Perkins

Style heroes are kinda my thing, I guess I see style heroes as another way of describing wardrobe essentials, the backbone of my style. So when Dorothy Perkins got in touch about participating in a styling competition based around this seasons style heroes how oh how could I ever resist?! So basically, enjoy the post, see how I styled up my denim shirt dress – 100% one of my spring style heroes and most importantly of all, keep an eye out on Dorothy Perkins Instagram and make sure you vote for me! Spring Style Heroes For me, spring is all about layering, I probably have said that in a post at some point or other with each season inserted. Layering is great at any point but no time more than Spring. It’s getting warm enough to brave cold legs – if you’re as brave as me that is – and some layering can make you look Spring ready without catching your death. I was dreading shooting this look when I woke up to frost . .frost. . on the floor, but this blanket scarf not only finishes this look off perfectly, but it’s also pretty damn warm. Hand’s up who forgot how effortlessly chic and warm a blanket scarf can be?! Loving the tie detail on this dress, I didn’t know if it was too girly for me but I actually really like it and think it breaks the dress up. I have to admit I also thought that the scarf over a dress may have made me look a wee bit naked underneath but I like it, this outfit will be recycled I can promise you that! The colours on the wrap compliment the denim dress really nicely! I’m not sure if this bag and shoe combo go completely but I loved how the bag brightened up the outfit and added the finishing touch, the shoe colour may have been a bad choice as they do tend to blend into my skin. I’m picturing them with a tan and it’s looking good, I guess I’ll be starting the holiday skin sooner than I thought! p.s – I also love it when you can officially wear sunglasses as a fashion accessory again, on your head, on your neckline, they just finish the outfit off better than any necklace and give you a certain just threw this on look. *Dress : Dorothy Perkins *Wrap : Dorothy Perkins *Shoes : Dorothy Perkins *Sunglasses : Dorothy Perkins *Bag : Mango One last reminder to keep an eye out for the competition on Dorothy Perkins Instagram account and show your support!! I would also love you to follow me on Bloglovin‘, it’s a great way of staying up to date with all of my latest posts! I have a great post on when blogging block strikes coming up on Thursday!

All Black Outfits, Why They Will Always Be A Womans Best Friend

All Black Outfits, Why They Will Always Be A Womans …

It may come as a surprise to you, as someone who usually goes for lighter neutrals, that actually, all black outfits are my best friends. To me, it’s like the day time equivalent of a little black dress. If you don’t know what to wear, all black outfits will never fail you. Although I really love each of the pieces I am wearing individually, I think that even if you didn’t, when put together, black and black compliment each other perfectly. Why All Black Outfits Win Every Time I feel like theres something impossibly chic about an all black outfit paired with some sunglasses. You instantly look like someone important, it adds a certain degree of mystery and oh la la. French women swear by black, and we all know how chic a french woman is, need I explain myself any more? An all black outfit is done best when you play with texture, here I’ve gone for an all denim outfit with my leather jacket worn over my shoulders, because what screams style more than not putting your arms through the sleeves? Sure I’m freezing but does that really matter when you look good? I say no. Double Denim Black on Black I got this t shirt in the sale from Zara a few weeks back, actually the day I got my hair cut! So I couldn’t find it to link for you guys but I did find an almost identical one here from Mango, only difference is it’s not black. . which kind of defeats the object of this post. BUT, it will still look great for a double denim look and who doesn’t love a denim t shirt in any colour, am I right or am I right? These jeans are another pair from Asos, I am loving their denim at the moment and these ones fit like a dream, I went a size up because they’re Mom jeans and I wanted them to look a bit looser, the 8 were pretty damn snug. I’m a real fan of the washed out black colour, I’m actually going to lunch with Asos for International Womens Day tomorrow, or today when you read this! And am thinking of wearing this exact outfit!! I don’t think that I will ever tire of the heel on these boots, it’s so pretty, and I know not everyone is a fan of boots in the summer but I think it’s a great way of toughening up a pretty dress! I really love the length of these too, I know I’ve probably said this a bazillion times but they cut off at just the right point on the ankle! Asos Denim | Meet Your New Best Friend

Asos Denim | Meet Your New Best Friend

Generally when I buy jeans I like to stick to what I know, so when asos denim contacted me about trying a pair of their new sculpt me jeans out I was a bit hesitant. You see, I view my jeans like an old friend who’s always there for you, reassuringly comfy and always forgiving. Sure they may wear over time but it just makes them better. Anyway, personifying objects aside, I love them. I know you’re probably getting sick and tired of me saying this in posts but I DO, and I fall in love easily, I’m a floozy what can I say – when it comes to clothes that is . . Before I start talking about outfits and all the usual malarky – it’s not malarky please still read it. I thought I would take a minute to talk about the fit. Because if you’re like me, then you’ll be thinking twice about ordering something like jeans off the internet, getting the perfect pair is no joking matter and can take a while – hence me usually sticking to what I know. This style are almost like jeggings, a similar fit to the Topshop Leigh jeans, but the material is thicker and has more stretch and support in it. They’re just so damn comfy the kind of comfy that means you keep them on when you get in at the end of the day – am I the only one that changes into my pyjamas straight away? *Jumper : Lovers + Friends @ Revolve Clothing *Jeans : Asos Shoes : Converse Asos Denim // Meet My New Best Friends So as these are now officially my new best friends (sorry Jamie, it was good whilst it lasted. . we can still keep in touch?) I thought I would do a little ways to wear. I was going to do 3 ways, the standard casual, smart casual and night out/evening, but I feel like I wouldn’t wear such light jeans in the evening for this time of year. Just you wait till summer’s here . .we’ll be inseparable. For my casual look I’ve dusted off my Converse. I do actually wear these a lot for work as I’m on my feet all day but because of this I often overlook them in day to day. Do you get that? When you tar something with the work brush? I do love the casual feel they give an outfit though, sometimes you just want to look easy breezy and for some reason my boyfriend loves me in Converse. . honestly I have no idea. Love this striped jumper from Lovers + Friends at Revolve Clothing, everytime I put a picture of it up on my insta I am flooded with compliments. Can’t wait until it’s warm enough to not wear a jacket so I can show off the back of it! It’ll be so nice with a little skirt and boots for Spring! Coat : Topshop Top : Zara *Jeans : Asos *Heels : Public Desire Asos Denim // Take Two Firstly, let me…

How One Pair Of Shoes Can Transform Your Outfit

How One Pair Of Shoes Can Transform Your Outfit

This is a very important post about how one pair of shoes can transform your outfit. If you, like me, have a boyfriend that complains about how many pairs of shoes you have, you should fetch your laptop immediately and show him this post because the fact of the matter is, they can. *Jacket : Girls On Film // T Shirt : H&M Old // Jeans : Asos // *Heels : Raye @ Revolve Clothing // Bag : Zara Why great shoes can transform your outfit into a ‘look’ Your probably sick and tired of me professing my love for jeans and talking about how all I wear is jeans and a t shirt right? But I feel like this is precisely the thing that has led me to the conclusion that shoes can transform your outfit. Shoes and bags are statement items, shoes more so. . because we love shoes, and the same outfit when worn with these beautiful Suede sandals, would look COMPLETELY different with a pair of Stan Smiths or a pair of stiletto court shoes. I’m a firm beleiver in that it’s how you accessorize an outfit that turns it into a full on ‘look’, no I don’t know what I’m talking about either. You get the picture though, it goes from jeans and a t shirt to, “woah, she’s smokin’ ” Do you know what I love about this look? I feel like it’s very Sincerely Jules – if you don’t know then you won’t know. Go and look her up, if you like low key style then she’ll be right up your street, think Californian laid back with the odd Chloe handbag thrown in. These shoesies are kind of a half way house if you will. I think you could wear this look day or night depending on your style of course! For me this is something I’d wear for dinner or a smart casual occasion because I am ultra low key in my style. I can imagine someone else might wear this to go shopping though! I was sent them by Revolve Clothing who I’ve always dreamt of working with after seeing the incredible Coachella parties they throw and the clothing itself worn by some huge inspirations of mine! These are from a brand called RAYE and I am in love. They’re real Suede and just the perfect neutral pair, you know when you can just tell a pair of shoes will be with you for years? Yeah, that. If I haven’t convinced you (your boyfriend/Husband) that a pair of shoes can transform your outfit and therefore a multitude of shoes are required at all times, then I haven’t done my job. But please do feel free to follow me on Bloglovin’ so I can have another go tomorrow? You can also find me on youtube now! LFW // What To Wear

LFW // What To Wear

I’ve never been to LFW before so I decided to go on the most tame days the Thursday and Friday, and skipped the shows to ease myself in with just events and hangouts. Don’t get me wrong, shows would have been amazing and I do regret passing up the opportunity after going down there, but at the time I just felt anxious and uncomfortable about the whole thing and wanted to be comfortable so that I could actually enjoy it! Coat : Next Old // *Top : Boohoo // *Belt : Boohoo // Jeans : Asos // Shoes : Topshop // Watch : Larsson &  Jennings Deciding What To Wear For LFW I had a real mare when I was deciding what to wear for LFW. So basically, it started on Thursday at the Boohoo Gifting lounge when I decided that anyone who’s anyone is more out there at LFW so therefore I needed to dress differently to my usual style. I tried on around 50 different things and surprise surprise I came out with a white top and a grey top . . really?! I ordered these jeans and thought, I’ll wear them with the top it’s fine it will look great and when they arrived I just did not feel LFW ready, I was so boring, I was so me. After ordering these man repelling shoes (my boyfriend practically cried when I told him it wasn’t a joke – which he thought it was) I loved it all together but I felt like it was too me to wear to LFW. Anyway, after having a good old fashioned instagram stalk of what people were wearing I was surprised to see some of the people who’s style I identify with the most were pretty laid back in their style, which made me realise that it’s fine to just be you. So eventually I settled for this look with a coat courtesy of Sue Crowe, It’s nothing particularly fancy but it’s me and I felt comfortable in it! I always find that when I’m comfortable I have more confidence which after all is the most flattering thing you can wear – cringe. Anyway, I didn’t put the arms through the sleeves and if that doesn’t scream fashion I don’t know what does. I love this shot of me and Liv from LivinFashion twinning in our granny shoes. Yes, they’re so beautiful we decided to just wear them, because . . fashion. I have to admit her tanned feet like a damn site better in them than my pasty feet do, mine look like a genuine grandmas feet, no offence to any grandmas. All photography by Liv Blankson Shop The Look Post LFW Breakfast with Farfetch I thought I would add in my little post LFW breakfast with Farfetch as it’s all part of the festivities and the location, The Wolsley Hotel is just a sight to be seen! I’m talking mirrored doors, gold banisters, high ceilings and marble floors. It was all I could do not to get up…
