My Everyday Uniform

I’m sure I’m not alone when I say that I seem to have developed a form of uniform for my everyday dressing. Kind of like Homer Simpson and his blue jeans, white shirt combo, I have certain pieces or styles that I’ll find myself wearing time and time again. It definitely depends on the time of year, but at the moment I’m living in chunky jumpers and jeans. I’ve also recently re-discovered my Topshop brogues which I love wearing with my new Next jeans. The jeans are slightly baggier so have a kind of mannish look to them which works really well with the brogues!   I’ve voiced my love for khaki more than enough times on here so it’ll come as no surprise that I chose a khaki jumper to show what I wear most days! Even though it’s now nearly mid November it’s still not really cooled down a huge amount, I’ll always throw on a chunky scarf when I’m not sure if I’ll be warm enough. I really want to get into the festive mood but it’s hard when it just isn’t cold? I don’t understand why the weather won’t let us have proper seasons! I was sent this bag from Pauls Boutique and I’m not usually one for a bag that occupies my hands. I like to have something on my shoulder and always imagined a hand held bag as being too annoying. I have actually fallen in love with this style though, it fit’s my new macbook in which is a huge plus and because it’s so simple and nude it goes with pretty much everything. I always feel really smart when I wear it as well because it’s a more structured style. What do you think to my new addition to the khaki collection, this jumper from Sammy Dress? I’m not sure if it’s supposed to be three quarter length sleeves or if it’s just because I’m super lanky? I do love the colour and the chunky knits. I way prefer roll necks too, I always think they’re so flattering on me because I have a small chest, I always go for the higher neck option! I’ve also just realised my total lack of ironing on this jumper – I’m embarrassed but I can’t re shoot so.. sorry guys! What’s your everyday uniform? Do you have a go to outfit or style that you just know works and always find yourself reaching for? Leave me a comment and let me know!  *Jumper : Sammy Dress | *Scarf : Like Mary | Jeans : Next | Brogues : Topshop Old| *Bag : Pauls Boutique If you liked this post then head on over to Bloglovin and give me a follow!

Feeling Festive in Red

Feeling Festive in Red

Let me start this post by saying red is definitely not a colour that I would consider as being my colour. When I chose this jacket from Shein I was expecting a burgundy coat with cream fur as photographed here. I have to be honest here and admit that when I opened the package I was more than a little disappointed that it didn’t quite match up to the photographs on the internet. As a lover of neutrals I definitely would not have chosen a red coat! Anyway, pushing this minor issue to the side, I’m actually pleasantly surprised with how well the photographs came out to show that, actually, is a red coat really the worst thing in the world? Obviously if it was the same price as my Zara one I would have been outraged but it wasn’t, it wasn’t even half, it was a fraction of the price! The sort of price that, who cares if you only wear it once?      To be honest, looking at these photo’s I’m thinking I look good, and yes, I will be wearing it again! So it’s not what I was expecting, hey ho, build a bridge and get over it! It’s super warm and cosy and it’s also pretty perfect for this time of year! I mean, what colour is more festive than red? For this look I decided to keep it pretty simple, with such a loud coat I thought I better play down the rest of the outfit and let the coat do the talking!   What do you think to my red coat? Is it making you’re eyes hurt or are you thinking like me, it’s pretty festive and when did a little red coat ever do any harm? Let me know what you think! Feeling Girly with Gemporia

Feeling Girly with Gemporia

I was pleasently surprised earlier this month when one of the girls over at Gemporia got in contact with me about a possible collaboration. I know what you’re thinking, where’s the gems then? Well despite the name, they do have a wide range of jewellery, not just gems. I chose this lovely little silver beaded bracelet. I love the infinity sign and thought it was so pretty and delicate. When I got the parcel and opened it my Mum said it was the women’s empowerment sign, no Mum it’s the infinity sign. Obviously then as any normal person does I went on google to look up the meaning of the infinity sign – she was right, it symbolises eternity, empowerment and everlasting love with some companies using it as a symbol of women’s empowerment. Knowing the meaning behind it makes me love it even more!My new pearl colour correcting pearls from Avon came on the same day as the bracelet so naturally I did a pretty girly shoot, I couldn’t resist having a play around with them! I’ve actually been using them for a few days now and I’m not 100% sure on what I’m supposed to do so any help and guidance you might have would be gratefully received! At the moment I’ve been dusting them over my foundation before I use my bronzer, I’m guessing they’re meant to help with keeping the make up on all day like a loose powder, also helping to get rid of red patches and give a more even complexion? Well that’s what I’m hoping they do anyway!  I love how pretty and delicate it is! It looks so pretty laid out with my new marble case from Madotta. Get ready to see a lot more of this, it’s my new favourite thing so I’m getting it in wherever I can!

Double Denim Loving

Double Denim Loving

Can we just take a minute to appreciate my hair in this photo? I think it’s my favourite photo of me ever for the pure fact that my hair looks like a genuine mane of golden, thick lusciousness. I only really discovered double denim a few months ago, I guess it happened the day I found the perfect denim shirt seen as my standard uniform is jeans, naturally double denim became my thing. I love how it looks with the crochet top underneath, it breaks it up a bit. It also gives me the opportunity to wear this beautiful Nana Judy top which I thought would have to be put to the back of my wardrobe till Spring, everyones a winner. I love this shot so much, I would say it’s probably one of my favourites since me and Alex first started taking photos for my blog together. There’s something about the angle and the way the door frames the picture that I just love! These photos were taken in a half hour slot between it chucking it down and pouring with rain so it was actually a pretty speedy shoot! I’m not gonna lie, I did worry about looking like a cowboy in these boots – not that looking like a cowboy is necessarily a bad thing? maybe it is? Sorry if you’re a cowboy and you’re reading this – no offence. I got these from Public Desire because I was instantly drawn to the shiny toe caps. I have a genuine problem when it comes to buying black ankle boots, I’ve got far more than I would like to admit and the differences are not all too obvious.  *Watch :  Abbott Lyon ( use code SINEADAL25 for £25 off your order and free worldwide shipping until 13th November)My phone is generally surgically attached to my hand, I don’t feel bad about it now that I’ve got the most beautiful phone case in the world. Literally a bloggers dream, a pastel marble phone case, Madotta have struck gold and it’s the perfect accessory – it goes with every outfit! Watch out for my claw hand!!! I don’t know if you can see it here (or below) but I’m wearing one of the beautiful bras from my sisters lingerie line Elcy Clothing. Bras like that are meant to be seen, when you’re wearing a crochet top you can’t go putting you’re comfy bra on you need something pretty and lacy! What do you think to this look? I’d love to hear you’re thoughts! I tell you what else I’d love! For you to head on over to Bloglovin’ and give me a cheeky follow, only if you like my blog of course!

How to Rock an LBD // Dorothy Perkins

How to Rock an LBD // Dorothy Perkins

Now before I start this post I’m going to say something that totally contradicts the entire thing. I’m not really a dress kinda girl. Obviously for special occasions I do wear dresses and if I’m totally honest I do want to be a dress girl but I’m just not. Thats why when it comes to party season I generally like to play it safe and stick to the wardrobe equivalent of an old best friend, the LBD – thats little black dress nan. I’m sure you can imagine my excitement when I just happened to check my emails and none other than Dorothy Perkins had asked me to work with them! It was a serious moment for me. I’ve not really been blogging too long in the grand scheme of things but I’d like to think that I’ve thrown myself into it whole heartedly and moments like this truly show that hard work pays off! Anyway, enough gushing, back to the post. So I was asked to contribute to their party dress campaign to show my favourite kind of dress and how I style it up for the winter party season. Of course I chose none other than the LBD and I kept it really simple. I’m not one to go over the top (my general day to day uniform is jeans and a baggy jumper) so I like to keep it simple and let the dress do the talking. I went for all black accessories and some light jewellery, finishing the look off with some snazzy hair and make up – well snazzy for me. What’s you’re favourite party look? are you an LBD fan like me?Me and my trusty photographer and bestie Alex Wallace decided to do this look inside – not just because it was pouring with rain and we were on a tight deadline, but also because, well, wondering the streets in daylight in a party dress just doesn’t look right. Que a trip to the local cocktail bar. I hope you like these photos and don’t forget to keep an eye out on Dorothy Perkins’ newsletter for yours truly!*Dress : Dorothy Perkins | *Shoes : Dorothy Perkins | *Bag : Dorothy Perkins | *Necklace : Little Findings | *Rings : Rue Gembon | *Nail Varnish : Zoya What do you think to this look and our location?!
