Learning to love yourself the way you are

I’ve had an epiphany when it comes to body image, you always want what you don’t have. People who have big boobs want small boobs and people with small boobs want big boobs. People with short hair want long hair and people with long hair are . . . smug.

I’ve been through many stages of hate, acceptation and love with my small boobs. And to show how ok I am with my bee stingsfried eggs I shot this look with NO BRA . . yes, I put images of myself onto the internet sans padded bra. If you’re a small breasted gal then you will know how much this takes. But do you know what? Ever since I decided small boobs ain’t too bad, me and bra’s have pretty much broken up, I have no use for them and guess what? small boobs don’t sag.

This post was actually triggered by a lovely young girl who emailed me explaining that she too was somewhat lacklustre in the breast department, with her own family prodding fun at her. Her own family! The thing is, people say things and they don’t realise how much an off the cuff comment can hurt someone. My sister once told me I could get a boob job for free on the NHS mine are so small, I think she genuinely thought she was being helpful.

Anyway, back to what I was saying. The girl in question commented on how confident I was in my small boobs and how I’d given her the confidence that small boobs can look good and you don’t have to have big boobs to be a confident, attractive young woman! And yes I did call myself attractive, this is about self love after all!

Why I Love My Small Boobs

So I thought I’d write a list for the small boob haters and the small bomb society so we can all agree finally that small boobs rock.

Clothes Fit Better

I never have to size up because of my boobs which I have been told can sometimes make you look bigger than you are,  I don’t have this problem.

It’s impossible to look like a slut

I could wear a v cut down to my . . . well down to my V. And I still wouldn’t look slutty.

You Can Sleep on You’re Front

AKA the best sleeping position

Sport isn’t an issue

Not that I play sport but I can run with no bra, sports bra who?

You can wear pretty underwear

As I said before, upderwiring is totally unnecessary, so if I do wear a bra its of the lacy useless variety.

Saggy Boobs aren’t an issue

Ever

People actually talk to your face

No cleavage staring perverts here!

Make sure you leave a comment if you love your small boobs and have something to add to the list of why small boobs are great!

The Gucci belt is back out and I love it! Why have I not been wearing it the whole time! I like to keep it pristine in the box then forget I own it! Does anyone else do this with their nice things!? She’s out for good now don’t worry!!!

YEES! PREACH! I have small boobs and I genuinely love them, they’re so easy to deal with clothes wise and if I ever want bigger boobs push up bras exist for a reason 😉 x

I still have moments where I wish mine were bigger, but they are what they are, and I completely agree with all your points! At 34 I too have recently discovered that I don’t have to wear a bra with everything, especially cami tops this summer. Loving that! Someone pass me the nipple daisies. 🙂

I feel like the more you embrace them the more confident you become about them! I am so much more confident since ditching padded bras and going bra less!

This is so inspirative! I used to feel bad about my boobs, but I learned to accept myself just the way I am. I feel much more confident after this post. :)x

Until around 2 years ago I was team very small boobs & forever wanted a little something more.. Now I’ve gained a little weight (damn you office job & snacking!!) and as a result have slightly bigger (Still nothing too crazy) boobs & still finding things about my body to complain about.. I think we are taught to always want what we don’t/can’t have! Whereas everything you’ve said here is right!

For the record, I now love my smaller boobs & wouldn’t change them at all!! 🙂 x

It really is, once you have the confidence in yourself you can achieve anything!

Omg I love this post! Definitely need to learn to love my body as it is, for so long now I’ve hated my boobs and been so paranoid about them. It’s amazing to see you talk so positively and honestly, this has just given me a giant confidence boost so thank you. I love that people like you are out there to talk about different body types and that it’s not all just about having boobs! ??❤️??

TOTALLY!!! Who said only big boobed girls can be sexy? In fact I think quite the opposite!

Wow, that’s sad how you have to pick yourself up by putting others down. I’ve never seen this from a girl with medium / big breasts trying to put women with small or flat chests down. Whatever it takes to make yourself feel good….also some small boobs DO sag, at least it’s what I see at the gym often. And not all big ones do either. So how about accepting yourself no matter what, instead of trying to put other girls down so you can feel better. Body shaming in either direction sucks.

I love this post! I am the same and have very very small boobs. It used to bother me when I was younger as I had a friend who always used to tell me I need to get a boob job etc. But now I love my boobs and think it’s such a shame when girls feel down about their bodies. On another note I love your cardigan and think I may order it myself xx

This is so bad, I think it’s awful for other girls to put one another down especially on their insecurities! I think most girls hate their bodies at a young age and it’s nice to grow out of these problems and appreciate and love your bodies the way they are! This is definitely my favourite cardigan and it’s super warm too, I sometimes don’t need a coat I just wear this in the transitional seasons!

A much needed post!! I stumbled upon this after reading a post from Liv saying she may consider a boob job! Small boobs are just as sexy as big boobs but loving them ourself is so important and it makes me so sad that most girls with small boobs really do want to get boob jobs ?? I’ll rock these small things for the rest of my life ..anyway I always think if you have small boobs you tend to have a peachier bum haha ? Such a lovely post xxx

Love how positive this post is and I really admire your confidence – in all your posts! Another point to add is a lack of back ache, I’ve heard people with big boobs complaining their back hurts from carrying them around – not for us!

I’ve just found your blog and I love this post! I’m in Team Small Boobs and hated them for suuuuch a long time. As I hit my late twenties, I started to become indifferent about them. And then indifference turned into love after I had my first baby. They grew (finally!!!!) during pregnancy and I was so chuffed. I’m not talking huge but definitely a cup size. But guess what? They got in the way! I didn’t know where to put my arms, I struggled to lie comfortably in bed (before I even sprouted a bump) and even my husband complained that the way we normally held hands no longer felt comfortable! Bizarre! Anyway, the most magical thing happened when my son was born. My little boobs produced all the milk my strapping great baby needed to grow and develop. They produced more when his appetite grew, and he flourished. I finally respected my jugs for doing/being exactly what they needed to. Love your boobs girls, no matter what the size. Sorry for writing an essay!!!!! X

I’ve only recently learnt not to hate mine quite so much too! I think it just happens when you reach your mid twenties and realise it ain’t the end of the world! I’ll always have that feeling of wanting what I don’t have though, wish I could experience larger ones just for a day! But it is definitely nice in summer and cute bralettes or strappy tops are so popular right now and definitely suit small braless boobs! Encourages me to try going braless more often for sure. Only worries is if it gets a little bit chilly!

Yes! I can’t remember the last time I wore a bra let alone one with padding or wiring!
