Blogging Tips

How to Use Social Media to build your blogs following

Knowing when and how to promote your blog is such a key part of being a blogger. Sooo, I thought for this weeks blog tips post I would talk about the ways you can use social media to build your blogs following. How to build your blogs following using Social Media Social media is a great free way of building up your blogs following. Most of my tips will probably make you go . .duh!  But I’d say they ain’t all that obvious and unless you know, you don’t know. . you know?! Twitter Tag brands and blogger groups in your tweet Whenever I share my blog posts on twitter I always tag either the brand I’m talking about or/and blogger groups. Incase you didn’t know, there’s so many groups that will retweet you. . like they’re dedicated to retweeting blogs . . I know. Some of the groups I regularly tag are below but I’m always finding new ones and there’s lots that are great for specific posts: @femalebloggerRT @fashbeautylife @UKbloggers1 @lovingblogs @lbloggerschat @blogginggals (use #blogginggals) @TheGirlGangHQ (make sure you also #thegirlgang) @bloggingconnect @BBlogRT Join in on blogger chats Blogger chats are another great way of building your following and getting people over to your blog. It’s also great for finding out new information and sharing tips with other bloggers. They usually have a topic such as working with brands or blog photography and the chat allows bloggers to swap experiences and share ideas. Some of the chats I regularly join in with I’ve listed below but I’m sure if none of these are relevant to you, if you do your research there’ll be hundreds to join in with! Monday #BDIB  – 7-8pm #Fbloggers – 8-9pm Tuesday #fblchat – 8-9pm #bloghour – 9-10pm Wednesday #lbloggers – 7-8pm #bbloggers – 8-9pm Friday #BDIB – 8-9pm Saturday #fblchat – 3-4pm Sunday #lbloggers – 7-8pm #bbloggers – 8-9pm Keep Active Twitter more than any other social media is one you need to stay active on. The more active you are, the more your following will grow. This is another reason why group chats are great, I try to join in at least 1 a week, regularly tweet my blog posts and try to post in between just general tweets like I love my dog . .you get the picture! Instagram Tag brands and inspiration pages in your photos and use relevant hashtags This is kind of similar to the Twitter one but obviously, as we all know Instagram is a tough nut to crack! I find that when I get reposted by a brand or inspirational page my blog views go way up. Once when ootdmagazine reposted me and I got way over 500 views in about an hour! Crazy. Tagging inspirational pages, brands and using specific brand hashtags are amazing ways of getting noticed for that all important re post! With OOTDmagazine you can also go to their website and submit images to give yourself more chances of being re posted! Be interactive I know that the more your following grows the harder this is, but…

A Lesson in Spring Layering : Part 2

Continuing with spring layering, we can navigate this tricky time period together – when the weather itself doesn’t know what the hell it’s doing so how on earth should we? I was sent this laaaaavely long coat recently and wanted to style it up for a while but I do like to keep my outfits relevant ish to the weather. Spring Layering For me it’s all about the layers. Hence the name – Spring Layering – duh? But in this case I’m not talking about for warmth, I’m talking textures and fashion people. Yes, the leather jacket is a necessary layer that will keep you warm in this outfit, but that flash of black leather from underneath the lightweight coat just gives your look that certain – je ne said quoi. Combined with the croc leather bag (my must have until the Gucci is mine) it just gives a classic look a tougher edge and a little somethin’ somethin’ different. Obviously these glove shoes were a must and I’m trying to get someone to buy me a black pair from Topshop for my birthday next month. Unfortunately everyone I know hates them and refuses to buy them  . . guess they’ll have to be a gift from me to me. Can Tea Make You Sleep Better?

When I was approached by Tea company Teami about trying some of their products, my first thought was – not one of those detox teas that give you diarohea. I’ve seen so many people try them – including my sister, and I just don’t know if I’m down with something that flushes your system. However, Teami have a range of different teas and after doing some exploring, my anxious stressed out self couldn’t help but be excited about the though of a tea that claims to relax you. I wake up most mornings with a light headache and aching jaw from clenching my teeth all night and I rarely sleep through without getting up in the night at least once. Could this tea be the answer to my prayers? The Ultimate Question : Can Tea Make You Sleep Better? So the ultimate question for me was – does the tea work? I tried it out in the handy little flask (more on that later) night after night and I have to say my results were varied. When I slept, I woke up refreshed, I slept more deeply and I didn’t clench my jaw . . hurrah! However, I wouldn’t say that it changed my sleeping habits. It didn’t get me to sleep any easier but when I did sleep, it was joyous.  Just one more comment on the taste – it’s nice. Not what I expected, I mean how can a tea that tastes nice benefit you? I added a dollop of honey as suggested on the packet and it was delicious. So if you get the flask, it’s super handy as it keeps the tea super duper warm for ages and has a handy sieve that strains the tea as you drink. As I was drinking my tea before I went to bed – my nights got later as the tea just did not cool – that flask is thermal alright. I used it like a little tea pot to stew the tea, pouring it into a mug when I wanted to drink! They also do these handy little tea infusers that fit neatly into a mug! Join the Teami You can use the code MINDFUL10 for 10% off any of the products from Teami. You can also choose from their wide range of teas, if you’re not put off by the whole detox tea trend like me, they do a great range of detox teas including a colon cleanse. There’s also teas for Skinny, Energy and Alive. You can see the full range here. Shop my insta Have you signed up to Liketoknow.it yet? AKA the answer to your prayers. A Lesson in Spring Layering : Part 1

This time of year is so tricky when deciding what to wear. It’s too warm to wear a full on coat but you go out without one and you end up regretting your decision immediately. Enter Spring Layering. I thought I would give a couple of lessons in layering for spring time to make sure you’ve got the perfect amount of warmth and maybe even jazz up those tired outfits, I mean, aren’t we all fed up of wearing those same coats every day? A lesson in Spring Layering If you’re wearing enough layers, you won’t need a coat. It’s all about layering up the knitwear for a comfy daytime look sans le coat. This cape is from Dorothy Perkins, it’s actually sold out now ..sob.. but they do have a pretty great alternative here and I’m imagining this Asos one in an all grey look and I am liking what I see – in my mind.   Cream on Cream I love layering the same colour with different textures and I’m sorry but – were this watch and cape not just a match made in heaven? I got this jumper from Sheinside a while back and I actually love it, it’s been a firm favourite since the day it arrived. The funnel neck and ribbed material are the small details that make me love it! Shop the Look Shop my spring layering look – click on the products below to be taken directly to the product pages! My cape is sold out but I’ve linked two others I love and think would make amazing looks! *Jumper : Sheinside *Cape : Sold Out Similar here and here Jeans : Asos Trainers : Asos Bag : Mango *Watch : Timex Have you followed me on Bloglovin’ yet? My Travelling Plans So Far . . Follow My Journey

As I told you guys a while back in my new years resolutions post, me and my boyfriend Jack were going travelling this summer, I thought I would keep you up to date! Half of me is absolutely terrified and the other half is ridiculously excited! For someone who was scared to leave the house at times just over a year ago, this is a huge thing for me to be doing and I can’t think of someone I’d rather be doing it with! So as I plan to continue my blog whilst I’m out there, it’ll turn very travel focused but I’m thinking I can make it work – just think of me as your personal travel guide complete with tips and tricks on where to go what to pack and those all important travelling OOTD’s . .  did someone say bikini? I thought it was only right to share my planning with you guys! Travelling takes quite a bit of planning and although we knew we were going for 3 months, the places were undecided until a couple of days ago when we sat down and finalised our route! Skyscanner determined a lot of this as we’ve found some super cheap flights – some as low as £14! If you haven’t checked them out already then Skyscanner truly is the one for flights guys! My Travelling Plans So Far  . . The Route Thailand : Bangkok Bali : Ubud   Bali : Nusa Lembongan   Bali : Sanur Bali : Uluwatu Flores Kuala Lumpur Langkawi Thailand : Krabi & The Islands Vietnam   Singapore Phillipines Borneo : Kota Kinabalu So from now on I’ll be trawling through Pinterest, Expedia , Skyscanner and Hotels.com looking for the best deals and places to stay – though I don’t think we’ll be booking any accommodation too ahead of time! ! I would love it if you guys were to share any tips, advice and stories you have from your own travelling experiences! If you’ve ever been to any of these places then let me know!!! I was thinking of doing a little wish list of clothes pieces for travelling but I had to stop myself – it’s too early Sinead. If you’re in the habit of checking my wishlist page (which you should be) then I add stuff on there all the time so you’ll be seeing the odd summery pieces popping up here and there! Make sure you follow me on Bloglovin’ to stay up to date with my travelling adventure! You can also subscribe to my youtube channel!! All photography is taken from Pinterest
