The Gift of Generosity

One of my main mantras in life is to always try to be positive and treat others how you expect to be treated yourself! I’m a firm believer that a small gesture of goodwill from yourself to someone else will not only make their day, but it might also make them more inclined to help others themselves, continuing a chain of goodwill! I often have generous thoughts and want to help people out, but would you believe that I actually stop myself because I don’t know how they’ll react and don’t want to ’embarrass’ myself . . . I know it’s ridiculous now that I think about it! A month or so ago me and my boyfriend went to Cambridge for the day and after a few hours of some hard core shopping my feet were severely blistered! After purchasing some plasters we headed back to the car and on the way I saw a girl limping with blood on the back of her foot. I said to my boyfriend I’m going to give her one of my plasters, to which he responded ” don’t you’ll embarrass me’ isn’t it awful that we would actually stop helping a stranger in case we embarrass ourselves!? For the record, I did give her the plaster and she was extremely grateful!! Anyway, I’ve kind of gone off subject here, but my new thing is that I will try and do at least one good deed, big or small a day and fight past the feelings of embarrassment to just do it! So when I was approached by SVP Jewellery about a collaboration which perfectly incorporated my new found generosity I jumped at the chance! I was gifted the most beautiful Blue Chalcedony Bon Bon Ring and set a lovely little challenge. The Blue Chalcedony is said to instill feelings of generosity and goodwill, therefore my task was to choose someone who means a lot to me and to gift them with this beautiful piece of jewellery. I know this doesn’t sound like much of a challenge but you haven’t seen the ring. A Faceted Blue Chalcedony set in 20 carat gold vermeil on sterling silver, and even better it’s adjustable so you can wear it on any finger! I did not want to give it away! I chose my sister, She’s not only my bestest buddy and partner in crime, but she’s also my blog photographer and we pretty much keep each other sane. I definitely wouldn’t have been able to create such a beautiful blog without the great imagery and she never complains, always helping me with new ideas and brainstorming. She definitely deserves this the most so I wanted to give her the ring to show her how much she means to me, and hopefully whenever she wears the ring she’ll not only think of me, but remember what the ring stands for passing on her own generosity!

Monochrome

Monochrome

My favourite look of all time has to be monochrome, give me anything in black or white ( or both) and I’m definitely going to love it! This is such a simple look I questioned whether it’s actually even worth blogging about?! Seriously.. white jeans, black t shirt and gladiators. I think accessories are key when you’re pulling off a simple look like this so I’ve finished it off with my beloved Brown and Berry bag, Urban Watch and Asos Sunnies!! These white jeans are one of my favourite pairs, they’re super stretchy which makes them so comfortable and I got them from no other than Primark! They’re one of my DIY projects which I’m pretty chuffed about, I cut off the hems and made some rips, you can see how I did it on my previous post here. My T shirt is actually from Primark as well, I don’t usually shop there too regularly but I think you can find some gems and they’re great for basics, especially if like me you’re planning on ripping up the jeans.. no body wants to do that to a pair of Topshop jeans!! Sale Picks

So the other day my sister came home with the most beautiful Zara dress she’d found in the sale, luckily for me we live together which pretty much means joint custody. This little lace number is the perfect summer dress, I just can’t believe that it’s already in the sale when summer only just seems to have graced us! Unlucky for you folks I couldn’t find it online to link, drop what your doing (maybe finish reading this post) and go to your nearest Zara store now. This is not a drill. I have however been trawling through the sales ( all in a hard days work) to bring you my fave sale picks – aren’t I kind? Gutted to see that my favourite grey jumper is now £7.00 from H&M, would it be totally ridiculous to buy it twice? Aurora London

Aurora London

As a fan of all thing’s rose gold and dainty, I’m in love with this little rope bracelet by Aurora London. They’re actually birthstone bracelets, all made with sterling silver with the option of rose gold plating ( had to be!). This isn’t my birthstone, I was born in May and this is the birthstone for March! I chose it partially for the colours ( I mean how good does that rose gold and pastel blue look together?) and partially for the healing properties. The Aquamarine stone is said to bring with it energy and emotional balance, as someone that suffers from anxiety which can often leave you feeling drained and out of energy, I thought this was the perfect option for me! I love wearing cute little bracelets like this in the summer, I’m debating getting a second colour to layer up!! If you fancy treating yourself to one of these beauties or maybe you’ve got someones birthday coming up, remember to use the code ‘ALBB’ for 15% off item from the birthstone bracelet collection, valid until the end of July!
