Birthday Wishlist

This Saturday it’s my birthday! I’m going to be 25 which I have been informed ( far more times than necessary) is a quarter of a century. I’m definitely not ready to embrace adulthood yet but I will take the presents thank you very much! I know it’s a bit late but I thought I would put together a little birthday wishlist ( Mum are you reading this?). I wont actually be here for my birthday as my ever so thoughtful boyfriend is whisking me away to a surprise location ( how the hell am I supposed to pack for that!?) to celebrate in style.   1 – I’m a big fan of fringing, this cute little clutch is great for summer and as a jeans and t shirt kinda gal, it’s the perfect finishing touch – Zara : £29.99 2- I’m still loving Next, they are so on it this season and this cute little dress would be perfect for if my weekend away is in the sun! – Next: £50.00 3 – My one true love in life is notebooks. I buy them on a  weekly basis, each one has a specific use I promise. As a result I have at least 10 notebooks on the go at any time and of course I’m always on the lookout for a new beauty like this one – Zara Home: £15.99 4- This Daniel Wellington watch is perfect for summer, love the blue and white strap. I always prefer men’s watches to ladies, I like the chunkier style and the large face – Daniel Wellington: £149.00 5- In my opinion, you can never have too many candles. Diptyque are the creme de la creme of the candle world, even if you don’t burn it just look at that pretty packaging – John Lewis: £40.00 6- This elcy clothing bra is almost too beautiful to wear under your clothes! Love the gold straps and perfect for if your a small boobed lady like me – Elcy Clothing : £25.00 7- Love these lace up shoes, the best Aquazzura dupes I’ve seen. If I don’t ( or someone else doesn’t) get them I know in a months time when they’re all sold out I will be kicking myself – Topshop : £62.00

Classic Tote

Classic Tote

This week I was blessed to receive the most beautiful gift in the form of this classic tote bag. The lovely girls over at Brown and Berry sent me the ‘CHERRY’ tote to try out and I honestly haven’t put it down since the day I got it! It’s so versatile with a removeable chain and grab handle, and in black and gold I don’t think there’s any outfit it doesn’t finish off perfectly! I’m a huge fan of croc skin so the beautifully finished front is the icing on the cake for me! For this look I dressed it down a bit for a smart/casual look with my favourite Primark denim skirt and my fluffy jacket. This jacket is still in the sale for £15 in H&M stores and makes the perfect light Spring layer! To finish the look off I’ve added my old faithful Topshop shoes, I’ve had these for years and have worn them to death! Totally contemplating buying a new pair the same.. is that crazy? If your as in love with this classic tote as me, make a quick decision whilst it’s reduced to just £149 from £235 for a limited time only! Buy it here!

Mindfulness

Mindfulness

I decided to do a post this week about what mindfulness actually is, I know the word might be a bit self-explanatory but I myself only found out the true meaning in the last year! In short mindfulness is about being aware and living in the moment, appreciating and experiencing every moment. The past no longer exists and the future hasn’t happened yet, mindfulness helps us to stop worrying about the future and hanging on to the past. Think about how many times you’ve driven home from work and not remembered how you got there, or had to double check you’ve turned the straighteners off or locked the door. We end up spending half of our lives on autopilot; mindfulness helps you to bring your attention back to the moment, paying attention to the small things that would normally go unnoticed.   Seen as this week I received the most beautiful mug from yonder living, I thought that this would be the perfect time to do some mindfull tea drinking! This is a page from one of my favourite books “Living in the Moment” by Anna Black (get it here), and it’s a great example of how to take time to indulge yourself and really enjoy the small moments! Personally my cup of tea is just a drink that I have whilst doing something and I never really just sit back and enjoy it! Here’s what Anna Black proposes we do : Feel the warmth of the tea in your hands Drink in the scent of the tea Notice the colour of your tea Be aware of the movement of bringing the cup to your lips, noticing any physical response in anticipation Experience the taste – notice if there is an ahh of pleasure Whenever your mind gets pulled away by thoughts (which it will) just notice where you have gone and then coming back kindly and gently to the bodily sensations   I always think the mug is the most important ingredient in making a cup of tea. I always have one sugar, but it has to be in the right mug, too big and it’s not enough, too small and it’s too sweet. I think it just tastes different in a nicer mug too, remember we also drink and eat with our eyes! Gladiator Sandals

Gladiator Sandals

Gladiators, you love em or hate em? I personally love them, my sisters boyfriend however thinks they belong on extras for roman films and that’s where they should stay! Love em or hate em they’re the sandal of the summer. With a range of different variations whether you want to go all out with a pair of knee highs or dip your toe into the gladiator pool with an ankle pair ( like me) there’s something for all you gladiator lovers out there! To give you (and me) some inspiration on how to wear the trend I’ve put together some of my favourite pinterest photographs. I love the knee high gladiators and they go so well with the suede dress! I’ve done a little shopping list of my favourite gladiators, I’ve got the tan Topshop ones! I love the Zara pastel green sandals, I can see how soft they are without even touching them and I think the pastel colour softens the style a bit!   Topshop Tan FIG Sandals : £39.00 | Next Black Lace up Sandals: £24.00 | Zara Beige Knee High Sandals : £99.99 | Mango Black Lace up Sandals: £19.99 | Zara Pastel Green Sandals: £49.99

H&M Jumper

H&M Jumper

I first saw this jumper on the beautiful Lucy Watson from Made in Chelsea and after researching where it was from and deciding that £39.99 was probably a bit much for a jumper from H&M, I left it. It caught my eye again last month and I decided that actually this isn’t a case of want, I do need this jumper. Of course by this time it had sold out everywhere in the UK in any size but 16. I checked Depop, I checked Ebay, I rang stores to double check, I even had my poor boyfriend go into half of the London stores! So obviously I got the jumper ( I’m wearing it), unknown to me my lovely boyfriend had been checking the jumper regularly online to see if it came back in stock, and one did! It’s a size 6 which I normally wouldn’t order, but as it’s an oversized style it fit’s perfectly! I’ve styled it with my trusty marks and spencers sandals and white jeans ( Primark with some DIY rips!) to give it a more spring summer feel!       These silver pieces of jewellery from Shop JJDR finish the look off perfectly! I’m in love with this barbell bracelet, I think it would look great with an evening look with one on each wrist. Jumper: H&M | Jeans: Primark with DIY Rips | Sandals: M&S | Bag: Zara | Barbell Bracelet: Shop JJDR | Chunky Ring: Shop JJDR
