Spring Interiors // Adding Small Touches for Spring

Spring Interiors - Watercolour cactus Tea Towel

Hey guys!

I don’t know about you but I often feel that as soon as I’ve done with decorating I get bored and want to start doing it all over again, I have to blame Pinterest for this entirely! For this reason I try to keep all of my rooms to a simple and minimal colour palette with accenting colours and accessories which I can switch in and out to update the room depending on the season, my mood, or what’s trending on Pinterest. I’ve decided to do a little spring interiors update with CollectPlus so of course I wanted to share it with you guys!

Spring Interiors // Adding Small Touches for Spring

So before I get into what I updated and why, I wanted to first let you know that everything I got came in under £200 in total which I thought was amazing! Some items are more pricey and some are super super affordable. Everything is available for delivery with CollectPlus who are kindly sponsoring this post and who are my lifeline when it comes to homeware. I do have a mailbox as you guys know but it’s still half an hours walk away which no one wants to do with a bulky homeware parcel! I have a store 3 minutes walk from my house that I can get items delivered to with CollectPlus and it’s open 6am – 11pm which is amazing because I always remember to pick things up and the most ungodly hours!

The biggest space in my flat is definitely the dining slash living room and since I recently did up the living room not too long ago I thought I would tackle the dining space. We have an incredible oak table which is perfect for entertaining and the giant windows make it a beautiful light area in spring. I decided to focus on adding some colour, updating some of our tatty tableware and making a lovely spring centre piece.

For the centre piece I picked pieces that look great together but can also be separated and moved around to other spaces as I said, I like to play with my interiors a lot so it’s great to have pieces that I know will work in other rooms if I want to mix things up a bit! I picked these vases from Made.com as the main focal point, I love the marble effect and if there’s one thing I’m anal about in spring, is always having fresh flowers on the table! I’ve still got these lovely gold candle stick holders from the last home update I did which I love, they’re great for dinner parties and for playing with size and height when making a little set up like this! Then I added a frame I picked up from M&S, the pressed flower is so pretty and honestly I’ve seen so many like this on Pinterest but I’m too lazy to actually get round to doing it DIY style so this is perfect! plus I love that I can add my polaroid pictures in the other side, this is a super cute one of me and Jess in LA at the LACMA Lamps installation!

To add some colour into the space I chose these super cute pink cushions which were actually an ASOS bargain! I love the way they sit at either end of the table in my bucket chairs and I know in the future they’d look cute on my bed . . always thinking ahead guys! Then because I love pink and green together I got these pretty cactus tea towels from M&S, because can you ever have enough tea towels? We also have a super minimal, monochrome kitchen so this bright tea towel hung on the side adds a pop of colour in there too!

I went to my trusty favourite for beautiful, good quality tablewear, The White Company. This marble plate is gorgeous for serving on or you could use it as a cake stand, or later I’m envisioning it as somewhere to display my jewellery or store my perfumes. I can also confirm that these mugs are the perfect size for the perfect cup of tea which is very important. Tea drinkers, you understand right?!

Finally one thing I think people really underestimate in interiors and especially in spring interiors, is scent. There’s nothing like a refreshing and light scent to offset the whole room and create a mood. I picked up this candle from The White Company, they do my favourite candles and are always my go to for gift giving! I love the smell of rosemary it’s so fresh and clean. I also really like the packing of this candle rather than the usual glass, it goes perfectly with my MADE.com vases right!?
