Wardrobe Staple : The Cashmere Jumper

I thought I’d do another post about the wardrobe staples as I seem to have accumulated another one! When I saw this cashmere jumper on the Boden website I had to get my hands on it. As I said before, there’s this unwritten list of wardrobe staples that all women should have. Cashmere Jumper A cashmere jumper is 100% at the top of the list of wardrobe staples that all women should have. I went for the v-neck style because I think it’s super flattering and I realised recently that I don’t actually own many v-necks, I’ve definitely got my eye on the round neck version next though! I don’t think theres a more classic colour that you’d want a cashmere jumper in than camel. It’s such a timeless colour that goes with pretty much anything. I love wearing my pieces oversized and envisioned myself snuggled up in this so I ordered it in the size above. If you like the fit of mine then I’d definitely recommend for you to do the same! Also – can we just take a minute of appreciation for these hems with the glove shoes? Perfect combo or what?? I have finally treated myself to a pair of black ones from Asos and they came today – so happy with them!! These are the ones I got! Media Pack | Why you need it & What to include

Media Pack | Why you need it & What to include

A media pack is something a lot of bloggers talk about but something I found really difficult to find out about when I was building mine. It doesn’t matter how big you are, you should always have a media pack and I’m here to save the day and tell you why. And then of course I’m going to tell you how to do it. Because that’s the kind of person I am. Why do you need a Media Pack? Media packs – incase you didn’t know – are basically a sheet or document, that shows PR’s and companies what you’ve done, who you are and you’re achievements. I always think of it as a bloggers CV! I personally loved it after I got mine because when you first start obviously you do a lot for free. When it comes to the point that you might want to start charging, asking if they have a budget or whether the gig is paid is such an awkward question. When you’ve got a media pack you can just say “I’ve attached my media pack” and guess what – most people are receptive to it. My theory is this, if they can get it for free – they will. You have to ask and know your worth because not many people will offer it on a plate! Charging is a minefield and quite personal so I won’t be talking about that! But I will talk about what you should include in your media pack! Design wise, I would say to keep it clean and easy to read whilst maintaining your ‘brand’ image. When I first created it, I made mine really compact so it fitted on an A4 page, now it’s really clean and clear and about 4/5 pages long!! What To Include About You & Your Blog This should be a little block of writing just saying when the blog established and what your blogs about with a few lines about you and your personal acheivements! Contact Details These should be super clear and easy to find Monthly Stats Update your stats monthly, I include my page views, sessions, unique users and bounce rate. If you don’t have google analytics, what are you playing at?! These are the only stats that brands accept and trust from my experience as other analytics programmes and websites can vary A LOT. Social Media Following I update this every time I send my media pack out. I know it’s not a great thought, but this really does matter. People want to know what your social followings are and it’s not rare to have brands that want to work with you exclusively on your social media or based on the following of your social media. Past Collaborations The longer you’ve been blogging the more brands you’ll have racked up so I tend to just put the top ones I’ve worked for or brands I have worked with repeatedly. I do try and put as many in but it needs to be clean and easy to read, remember you want…

Holiday Essentials

Holiday Essentials

Talking about my holiday essentials, what I wear on my body and my face. The clothes pretty much go for the whole of summer – if it ever gets here in the UK. And the beauty bits, well I only like to take the bare minimal and minis are my everything. Cold Shoulders & Lace Ups Cold shoulders and lace ups are the butter and bread of holiday wardrobe sandwiches, did that make sense? I feel like that was either genius or ridiculous? Basically, if you don’t have a pair of gladiators and a cold shoulder top in your luggage/ summer wardrobe then you’re missing the two essentials to my holiday wardrobe/my summer essentials. Floaty cold shoulders are the ultimate in understated sexy and pretty much work for day night and anything in between. I’d say the same for gladiators, maybe not sexy, but they’re so damn wearable. These next ones bring a lil’ sumthin’ sumthin’ different to the table with all of that embroidered goodness that makes them look a bit special compared to it’s rivals on the high st. Holiday Essentials : Beauty So first of all – this is free when you spend £50 on Clinique in House of Fraser until 21st May – BUT thats still free. If you already shop at Clinique then just buying a couple of the things you use all the time and stocking up is the perfect way to bag you . . this bag? So anyway, sneaky blog titles aside, this bag has all of the holiday essentials covered. You get moisturiser, face moisturiser, eye cream, foundation/concealer, mascara and lipstick all in a handy bag, big enough to fit some of your favourites in! Even if you weren’t to use these on a daily basis I think it’s a great idea to just have something like this you can take with you if you’re going somewhere for the night and don’t want to think about it or have to take all of your full size products. This is exactly why minis are great! One Easy Look Like I said before, it’s a face in a bag! Aside from the skincare and bag, you also get foundation/concealer, mascara and lipstick. Granted the lipstick is a tad too bright for my liking and the foundation isn’t necessarily the one I’d use everyday but I would happily wear these if I was staying somewhere for the night and just wanted light and easy make up without bringing my whole collection! Let me know what your holiday essentials are! I always wear foundation or tinted moisturiser on holiday because my face either burns or I hide it so it’s pale! Who wants old wrinkly skin?!

Why I Cut My Hair Short With Sassoon

Why I Cut My Hair Short With Sassoon

I got my hair did. That’s basically what this post is about. I had it done a few months ago and went tentatively short, then this time I went the whole hog and got it proper short. Sassoon have truly restored my shaky faith in hairdressers so I thought I’d share my experience, what I asked for and how I decided what to get, to help you make the jump if you’re teetering on the edge! So this was just going to be a post full of pictures of me sexually grabbing my hair but then I thought it might look like some form of soft porn plus who doesn’t love an outfit? I also had these new sandals that I basically just wanted to show off. I love them incase you hadn’t guessed. This weather is on crack and I no longer know how to dress myself, so I ended up with a weird mix of sandals on my feet and a chunky knit on my top, it kind of works though. Shop The Look Click the images below to shop my look! Getting The Chop – Why Sassoon So as I kind of explained previously I already got my hair cut at Sassoon before – you can see my video about it here. I went pretty short from my previous longer locks, and this time, I went even shorter. When in Rome? I feel like looking back the first time I got it cut it was such an in between length and I love the shorter style, I feel like a smart lady. OK, maybe not quite a lady but I like it and I like the way it makes me feel. Of course I never would have even dared to go for this kind of chop if I hadn’t already experienced the talents of the lovely girls at Sassoon. Having the head colourist and one of the top stylists on your side, you know you’re in safe hands and just by talking to them about what I wanted I knew they knew what they were doing. I was first told that the length I wanted wouldn’t work. I wanted shoulder length but they quickly explained the hazards of this length – it flicking out and never sitting right being one of them. I went for slightly longer, I’m just not ready for slightly shorter yet! They also asked about how I style it on a day to day basis, adding in a few light layers so that when I curl my hair it’ll sit nicely – I didn’t even know things like that mattered! I have honestly never discussed things like this with my hairdresser before, I say I want it cut and she does whatever the hell she wants – hence why I don’t trust hairdressers all too easily. I am so happy with what Mia’s done with the colouring of my hair. She’s given me some really natural highlights using colouring only – no bleach, so that it grows out naturally and just generally gives…

Experiencing Ascot With Wallis

Experiencing Ascot With Wallis

Last weekend I was whisked away to Ascot by the lovely girls from Wallis. Having never been to Ascot before, let along had the privilege of being hosted in a private box, I thought I’d take you guys along! It’s a bit of a mixture of pictures but you get a feel for it! It was honestly the most beautiful day so sunglasses were essential along with plenty of money to place bets with! I got a bit sneaky with my pictures so there’s quite a few of random people that I thought made my pictures look better, as you do! But don’t you think this woman’s hat compliments the view perfectly?! Photo time on the balcony, sorry about the lighting on this guys – it was so sunny outside and shaded under the balcony so it was either really dark or really light or NADA! ALL OF THE FOOD!!! We were treated to a 3 course meal which was incredible followed by afternoon tea which was as tasty as is was photogenic, all the while being waited on hand and foot by two lovely girls! This dress from Wallis actually surprised me so much. I always think of Wallis as somewhere sensible work women and Mums shop but actually there’s so many pieces that I really liked. I’m pretty ashamed at myself for writing them off so easily!! Something like this dress is perfect because It was just the right length for the occasion and easy to make your own. I added my smart white coat for a full look but it was super hot and sunny all day – perfect for the races! So I pretty much ditched the jacket for the day! who would have thought it might actually be warm in May!? I went for nude accessories to keep it really light and summery! It was funny because all of us went for either navy or cream so we were looked like a well dressed girlband!
