Day to Night

A couple of weeks ago I went to visit the STALF studio, I met the beautiful owner Paris and got to take a peek at her super stylish studio. I came away with this cropped polo top, which is perfect for me as you know – I love basics! The main thing I love about basics is that there’s so many different ways to wear them! You can dress them up or down and wear the same thing over and over without people noticing ( I hope!). STALF is the perfect destination for you if your a lover of basics like myself! They only run a limited number of each line which makes it feel super special, and all products are one size so no umming and arring about what size you are. The best bit is that they’re all made by hand in the UK, even the fabric is made in the UK! As this style is super versatile, I’ve been living in it recently and thought I would show you how I’ve been wearing it with a day to night look!   I’m loving this STROEM design ring at the moment! I went to visit the lovely Marie who makes all of the jewellery herself by hand last week and came away with this ring. It’s so different to anything else I have or that I’ve seen. Because of the style I can wear it on any finger as well which is perfect for me as I love layering up my jewellery!   Day Outfit Details: Top: STALF | Jeans: Topshop | Ring (left): Cradle Jewellery | Ring (right): STROEM Jewellery | Sunglasses: Old| Watch: Larsson & Jennings | Shoes: Next | Bag: Zara Night Outfit Details: Top: STALF | Skirt: H&M Old | Shoes: Primark | Necklace : JJDR

Over Thinking

Over Thinking

I love this parabell taken from one of my favourite books “Hapiness and how it happens” by The Happy Buddah. For me, the main issue I have with my anxiety is my tendancy to overthink everything. I actually went through a phase of asking everyone else what I should do because I just couldn’t think for myself! How crazy is that?! I have more than just a wondering mind, I get totally lost in my thoughts, going over things that have happened and what would happen if they were different, worrying about things that haven’t even happened yet and probably never will. I found this book so helpful, it teaches you about happiness, which isn’t really a thing.. bear with me! When your happy, you don’t think about it, you just are. When your unhappy, you replay things over in your mind and obsess over whats making you unhappy. So essentially, by learning to clear your mind and ignore your thoughts which are described in the book as “stories”, you can lead a happier and more relaxed life. I’ve found this so helpful, particularly at times when I have been over thinking and stressing myself out to just stop, remember that your mind isn’t you, and notice what your mind is doing. The important thing to remember is to not be angry when you notice your mind being negative, to just notice it and forget it. You can find the brushes I used to make this quote on photoshop here

Current Favourites

Current Favourites

I thought I would do a little post this week about what I’m loving at the moment with some of my current favourites. As a lover of all basics, stripe t shirts are part of my everyday uniform. I picked this one up from Zara whilst I was in Santander, massive tip guys – Zara is always cheaper in Spain ( this was 12 euros) so it’s the perfect excuse for some holiday shopping! I’ve had these jeans for ages, they’re good old primark and I’ve personalised them with some sandpaper and scissors! I love ripped jeans at the moment so Primark’s perfect because they’re so cheap, let’s face it your not going to take a pair of scissors to your Tophop Jamies! Check out A Pair and a Spare’s DIY blog for a step by step guide on DIY distressing denim. I love finishing off a girly/summery look with some black ankle boots and chunky accessories to give it a little edge. These H&M suede boots have served me well over the past few months and are still going strong! Triangl

Triangl

So this week I decided to give up waiting for sunshine in the UK ( when I’m not at work – typical!) and waiting for my holiday in August ( too far away) and do a post on my new Triangl bikini. I arrived home from my trip to Spain to this beautiful piece of perfect swimwear! If you don’t know about Triangl already there’s honestly no hope for you.. where have you been? Colourful, neoprene and oh so stylish it’s the ultimate swimwear brand, be seen in one of these poolside and you’ll earn serious style kudos! Not only was I lucky enough to be gifted one of these beauties, but I got to choose my favourite style. After spending far longer than I’d like to admit deliberating over a style I decided to go for the new range of crochet bikinis. Crochet and neoprene.. do they go your thinking? It does sound strange I’ll admit, but honestly it works! I chose this shape because I always find it more flattering for my shape and the snug fit of this is perfect, ride any water slide and this baby’s not moving an inch. Because I had to shoot this inside due to the good old english summer, I decided to spruce up the borders with somewhere I’d rather be – the beach. I’ve styled it out with another of my charity shop finds, a cream embroidered kimono, my favourite sunglasses and did I mention you get this co-ordinating neoprene beach bag with each bikini? STALF Studio

STALF Studio

So this week I had the pleasure of being invited to visit the STALF studio to see what goes on behind the scenes of a clothing brand, and find out more about the brand. Paris is the one woman band running STALF from her Lincolnshire studio with her trusty seamstress at her side. I love the concept of the brand that it’s all made from scratch in Britain, right from the designing stages to the creating of the fabric to production. There’s only one batch of each style so once it’s gone it’s gone, I always think when somethings limited edition it makes it that bit more special, particularly if you know who made it ( see above!). STALF clothes are made with free sizing ( between a 6 -14 depending on the fit) and are perfect for people like me who prefer clothes on the looser side. Can we just take a minute to appreciate how beautiful her studio is? Converted from an old butchers this is a truly pinterest worthy! I’m obsessed with this tile counter! Visit the STALF website here for your own hand made pieces!
