A Sunday Scrub

Since I’ve been little, Sunday evenings are for scrubbing up and getting ready for the week ahead. Obviously my routine’s changed a lot since I was younger when it was roast dinner, songs of praise, bath and bed. Now it’s more about beauty and skincare up keep. I thought I would talk you through my routine and my newest edition, the Sunday scrub with Scrub love! Beauty Preppin’ Beauty prep is something I try to do every week but I can’t deny I’m not the most prepped and preened of the ladies out there! I’ve been religiously using my face creams and moisturisers for the past year and this is something I’m super duper proud of because until a couple of years ago I didn’t even take my make up off before bed!!!!! I also shave and do other maintenance – only in the summer of course. Summertime is when my beauty regime is at it’s peak I’d say! Then I also have started to use St Tropez in shower gradual tan which is helping me to have a more gradual lovely natural glow. Last step is to paint my nails and make me feel like a real lady! Sunday scrub The Sunday scrub is a new step that I’ve added since discovering caffeine scrubs. There’s so many odd beauty secrets and trends that I just don’t try. I’m not hugely into it and I just quite frankly – can’t be arsed.  Caffeine scrubs… worth the effort. I originally just thought it was a fancy way of prepping your skin for tanning – which it does btw perfectly. It was only until my sister came in and was like whaaaat I’ve been after one of those for ages – she then went on to inform me of all the benefits. Nourishing Hydrating Softening Moisturising Polishing Nourishing Saving the best till last – it fights cellulite!!!! Then there’s the fact that this one smells like mint chocolate and also comes in coconut as well as the original – the best flavours.  I’m hooked on Scrub Love guys. The best bit is that I feel like a real life woman with a real life beauty regime! Do you guys use caffeine scrub? if so make sure you try this one! It’s not tested on animals and is free from allllll of the nasties. Then there’s the fact that they’ve gone out of their way to source the best ingredients like Himilayan pink salt and dead sea salt! If you do get some make sure you post a pic of you using it with the hashtag #babeswhoscrub !! This post is in collaboration with Scrub Love Make sure you check them out on Instagram, Twitter and Facebook Make sure you follow me on Bloglovin’ to stay up to date with the latest posts! Holiday Essentials

Holiday Essentials

Talking about my holiday essentials, what I wear on my body and my face. The clothes pretty much go for the whole of summer – if it ever gets here in the UK. And the beauty bits, well I only like to take the bare minimal and minis are my everything. Cold Shoulders & Lace Ups Cold shoulders and lace ups are the butter and bread of holiday wardrobe sandwiches, did that make sense? I feel like that was either genius or ridiculous? Basically, if you don’t have a pair of gladiators and a cold shoulder top in your luggage/ summer wardrobe then you’re missing the two essentials to my holiday wardrobe/my summer essentials. Floaty cold shoulders are the ultimate in understated sexy and pretty much work for day night and anything in between. I’d say the same for gladiators, maybe not sexy, but they’re so damn wearable. These next ones bring a lil’ sumthin’ sumthin’ different to the table with all of that embroidered goodness that makes them look a bit special compared to it’s rivals on the high st. Holiday Essentials : Beauty So first of all – this is free when you spend £50 on Clinique in House of Fraser until 21st May – BUT thats still free. If you already shop at Clinique then just buying a couple of the things you use all the time and stocking up is the perfect way to bag you . . this bag? So anyway, sneaky blog titles aside, this bag has all of the holiday essentials covered. You get moisturiser, face moisturiser, eye cream, foundation/concealer, mascara and lipstick all in a handy bag, big enough to fit some of your favourites in! Even if you weren’t to use these on a daily basis I think it’s a great idea to just have something like this you can take with you if you’re going somewhere for the night and don’t want to think about it or have to take all of your full size products. This is exactly why minis are great! One Easy Look Like I said before, it’s a face in a bag! Aside from the skincare and bag, you also get foundation/concealer, mascara and lipstick. Granted the lipstick is a tad too bright for my liking and the foundation isn’t necessarily the one I’d use everyday but I would happily wear these if I was staying somewhere for the night and just wanted light and easy make up without bringing my whole collection! Let me know what your holiday essentials are! I always wear foundation or tinted moisturiser on holiday because my face either burns or I hide it so it’s pale! Who wants old wrinkly skin?!

Why I Cut My Hair Short With Sassoon

Why I Cut My Hair Short With Sassoon

I got my hair did. That’s basically what this post is about. I had it done a few months ago and went tentatively short, then this time I went the whole hog and got it proper short. Sassoon have truly restored my shaky faith in hairdressers so I thought I’d share my experience, what I asked for and how I decided what to get, to help you make the jump if you’re teetering on the edge! So this was just going to be a post full of pictures of me sexually grabbing my hair but then I thought it might look like some form of soft porn plus who doesn’t love an outfit? I also had these new sandals that I basically just wanted to show off. I love them incase you hadn’t guessed. This weather is on crack and I no longer know how to dress myself, so I ended up with a weird mix of sandals on my feet and a chunky knit on my top, it kind of works though. Shop The Look Click the images below to shop my look! Getting The Chop – Why Sassoon So as I kind of explained previously I already got my hair cut at Sassoon before – you can see my video about it here. I went pretty short from my previous longer locks, and this time, I went even shorter. When in Rome? I feel like looking back the first time I got it cut it was such an in between length and I love the shorter style, I feel like a smart lady. OK, maybe not quite a lady but I like it and I like the way it makes me feel. Of course I never would have even dared to go for this kind of chop if I hadn’t already experienced the talents of the lovely girls at Sassoon. Having the head colourist and one of the top stylists on your side, you know you’re in safe hands and just by talking to them about what I wanted I knew they knew what they were doing. I was first told that the length I wanted wouldn’t work. I wanted shoulder length but they quickly explained the hazards of this length – it flicking out and never sitting right being one of them. I went for slightly longer, I’m just not ready for slightly shorter yet! They also asked about how I style it on a day to day basis, adding in a few light layers so that when I curl my hair it’ll sit nicely – I didn’t even know things like that mattered! I have honestly never discussed things like this with my hairdresser before, I say I want it cut and she does whatever the hell she wants – hence why I don’t trust hairdressers all too easily. I am so happy with what Mia’s done with the colouring of my hair. She’s given me some really natural highlights using colouring only – no bleach, so that it grows out naturally and just generally gives…

Waking Up My Tired Skin

Waking Up My Tired Skin

My skin is one of the things I’m most self conscious of, not all of it, just the skin on my face. I haven’t got bad skin by any measure, I’m just pale as hell with skin that’s pretty much translucent. If you follow me on snapchat (sineadcrowe) you’ll have seen many a bare faced snap and you’ll know what I’m talking about! I just feel like every little imperfection is so visible, I get freckles which I dislike, any redness is magnified and my under eyes are the thing of nightmares. So since I’ve decided to try and be more confident without make up, I was totally on board when Clarins asked me to test out their new boosters and night cream. What is tired skin? Tired skin is something I would definitely identify with . . it’s nothing about my skin to be fair, I’m just tired and dislike my complexion, so I call it tired skin for a lack of a better description. This perhaps, is why I went for the energy booster from Clarins’ new range. The energy booster claims to “Re-energize and tone skin, minimise signs of fatigue and keep your complexion radiant” gimmie somma that. Clarins Boosters The idea is that you add 3-5 drops of the booster into your day or night cream using as little or often as needed. So it isn’t an everyday thing – though I have to admit I’ve used it every day since I got it. They also say that if you want a more intensive treatment, you can add it to your foundation or face mask – something I haven’t tried yet but may be my next port of call. So these little boosters sent from Clarins heaven are essentially made to detox your skin in any way shape or form you wish. Energy revitalises, Repair reduces redness and comforts damaged skin and detox purifies your skin from the effects of pollution and overindulgence. I think I’m also in need of the detox booster – overindulgence is my middle name. Ok . . I need them all. Energy Booster – Repair Booster – Detox Booster Clarins Multi-Active Nuit Cream First of all, when it comes to putting things on my face the smell is everything. If something smells sickly sweet I can’t bear the throught of putting it all over my face, it’s the same with highly perfumed creams. This has a kind of plant based smell, really clean and fresh. The sort of smell you don’t mind on your face. Together with the booster they go on really nicely, the cream is super lightweight and I already feel like it’s worked wonders. So much so that I’m already planning on repurchasing the cream (those booster drops will last me years) and perhaps even the day cream from the same range. When it comes to your skin, it’s so important to invest because you’ve only got one and you’re stuck with it! It’s all about ageing gracefully and with my 26 birthday next month I’m becoming more and more aware of this! *Clarins Multi-Active Nuit Cream : House of Fraser *Clarins Booster…
