My Daily Essentials // Beauty

As I’m dipping my big toe into the world of beauty, I thought it was only right to share with you my favourite beauty products that I wear every single day. My daily essentials if you will! daily essentials Base I use Mac for my base, I never really bought into the whole Mac thing until recently. I had some of their lipsticks which by the way taste incredible but never the face products. I always just wrote it off as something girls who wear a lot of make up wear and never really thought they might have options for all levels of make-up-ness.  One hour after visiting a Mac stand later and I’m walking away £100 lighter with a bag full of goodies and some new daily essentials. I use the Studio Sculpt foundation which is really nice and light and gives a more dewy look. I also use the Select Moisture cover concealer which I was told to put on before my foundation and actually learnt that I’ve been putting too much on! I’ve always had a major hang up when it comes to my under eye circles since a drunk told me I looked 30 at the age of 19, I’ve tried so many different products even layering 3 different types at one point! Apparently the more you put on the more it looks like you’re trying to cover, honestly I agree so much and I’m much more confident about them now! Finally on my face I use the Mac Mineralise Powder to keep my make up in place and for me it just kind of finishes it off and makes it look perfect. My sister always tells me my skin looks flawless now which is so nice to hear and makes me think that who cares how much it costs when it makes you feel that good? I mean don’t get me wrong I don’t really get spots so I don’t have bad skin but it’s more the staying power and the flawless finish I love! Contour Once I’ve done my base I cover my face in a light layer of bronzer and contour with this Sleek Make up Palette. I was sent this by the lovely people over at In The Style and honestly there’s not a day goes by that I don’t use it! The highlighter is amazing and I love the subtle contour. Its so quick to do as well, I don’t do the whole face just my cheeks so I literally do a stripe of each and blend them for a natural look! Brows Again, I was lucky enough to be sent this Magic Powder from Eyeko. It’s called Magic Powder and my god it is. I’ve had it since way before Christmas and I use it everyday without fail, it’s become one of my most loved daily essentials. It takes two seconds to brush on and the brush is like a lipgloss brush so you have quite good control over the powder. It’s a…

Guerlain Review // House of Fraser

Guerlain Review // House of Fraser

When House of Fraser emailed me asking if I’d like to try out some Guerlain products it was pretty much a no brainer. Now I have to admit that I’ve never used any of their products before, but the one thing I did know about Guerlain is that the packaging was impeccable. Beautiful products that ought to be on display at all times! Guerlain // La Petite Robe Noire This range in particular is exciting because it’s actually exclusive to House of Fraser for a month, which makes me feel pretty darn special. Yes, you heard it first, one of the elite members trying out these products first. . along with the rest of the lucky folks who shop at House of Fraser. . . but we needn’t mention that bit now had we?! The pigmentation is really light and shimmery, almost more like a tinted balm. I’m not being funny but who cares what it looks like when it tastes as good as it does?! The taste, I mean smell . . kind of reminds me of the Lancome juicy tubes that everyone had at school. Yeah they tasted good but honestly who wants their hair permanently stuck to their lips? I love the lighter pink colour because it’s not too bright and it feels really moisturising, not to mention the fact that it tastes incredible. These would be great for a ‘no make up’ make up look because they give the most subtle hint of colour. I’m all about the understated look! Lipstick Pink // Lipstick Purple // Perfume Can we just take a moment of appreciation for the packaging? I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again, if there’s one thing Guerlain know it’s packaging! This tiny but perfectly formed perfume sample is a drop from heaven. If I’m completely honest I didn’t even know that Guerlain did perfume before but I’m definitely adding this to my list of things I want for my birthday. So what if my birthdays in May? I guess for now I can carry this one in my handbag so I always smell incredible! Don’t forget to follow me on Bloglovin as I’m hoping to do more beauty posts! New In Beauty

New In Beauty

Beauty Buys This month I’ve been getting into beauty so much, I’m truly determined to learn from the best and become a beauty guru! I’ve had a lot of gifts in the form of beauty products recently which I find is great for trying out new things and seeing what works best for me. Real Techniques // Sigma After buying my Louise Young foundation brush I’ve literally gone brush crazy. I now know I need a separate brush (at least one) for each thing. I found a great set of real techniques brushes for just £16.99 from TK Maxx the other day. They had so many brushes, both individually packaged and in sets so if you live near one I would recommend popping in! I went for this set because I wanted something for my bronze and eyeshadow, then I got the flat foundation brush (hate flat foundation brushes but I’m sure I’ll find a use for it) as an added extra! These HD brushes were kindly sent to me by the lovely people at Sigma. They’re angled in a way that allows you to apply your foundation and concealer to create a flawless finish, reaching all creases and cracks! I had to shoot these pictures quite speedily because I actually wanted to try them! I think the concealer brush is in-credible, amazing for getting into all of the areas around the eye! The foundation brush failed to win my heart, I’ll be fair to it though, it did a good job, but I just will never stray from my Louise Young! It will probably be good for when I want a higher coverage, if I’m going out for the evening or something!! They also sent me this super fancy brush cleaning mat which I’ll put to use this evening! I’ve not washed any of my brushes yet and I’ve had my foundation one for at least a month. Apparently this is really bad and I’m lucky I don’t have spots so I’m sorting it out! Eyeko // Next So many eye products! I got this little eye palette from Next and of course I dug a chunk out of it with my fingernail as I clumsily forced it open. I was excited ok! I Still need to watch many tutorials on how to use it properly but I love the warm, neutral tones so I know I’ll love it once I know how to use it! The lovely people from Eyeko also sent me some bits to try out and I can seriously say my eyebrows are on fleek. And just eyes in general! Love the eyeliner felt tip, it’s so much easier to control than my usual pot so another aim of mine is to perfect the eyeliner flick.. is anyone getting the theme here? I suck at make up! I actually got the Next palette in a goody bag with this lip bullet. I’ve never used a lip bullet before but its got such a lovely smooth and creamy feel, I was…

Mac Make up Haul

Mac Make up Haul

This week I popped into Harrods to look at some Mac Concealer, 1 hour later and £100.00 lighter I’ve brought my first grown up make up. Or should I say, non drug store make up. I have had bits and pieces from other brands such as the touch eclait from YSL (which by the way I don’t know why people rave about so much) but never a full set. When I say full set, I picked up a foundation, concealer and setting powder… and some brushes. I couldn’t resist getting the whole lot when I looked at what she’d done, I mean, I looked good. AND it didn’t wear off! Which to me is all I want in make up! I’ve always steered clear of Mac make up, I kind of stereotyped it into the sort of make up the girls who plaster it on wear. As someone who prefers a more natural look I just didn’t see it working for me but honestly, they have so many types of different foundation etc and all I’ve ever seen people use it the Studio Fix Foundation which is super thick! When I took my chair to get my concealer, I was told that first of all, I’ve been putting it on wrong. I’m someone who is super self conscious of my eye bags, I know most people don’t probably notice them but for me they’re all I see when I look at my face. She actually told me that by plastering on the concealer I’m making it look like I have a LOT more to cover up than I actually do. I also put my concealer on after my foundation which apparently is a big no no! She then said about putting a foundation on because she wiped mine off, this is when I opened up about my phobia of Mac foundations. I told her I wanted something that gave me an even skin tone and would last all day without being too heavy, I wanted a sort of ‘soft and dewy’ look, something that would give me a glow. When she finished the look off with the powder I was sold on all 3, of course I had to have the brushes to put it all on with too! I also thought I would include this cute contouring Palette I got sent from IntheStyle as I used it in the below look. It’s super handy for contouring though I’m still not sure if I have the hang of it! Remember if you get anything from IntheStyle use the code SIN10 for 10% off anything online! How cute does it all look with my Kendall Bralette from elcy clothing? You can also get 10% off any of their products with the code ‘lovestylemindfulness’ So there you have it, my make up collection has begun, I couldn’t resist indulging in some selfies after I applied to show you what it looked like! The lighting is quite bad due to it always being horrible outside at the minute…

H&M Beauty Haul

H&M Beauty Haul

I first saw H&M Beauty when I was in Sweden, I just thought it was something they had always done but was exclusive to Swedish stores. I decided to pick up a lipstick to try out but more as a souvenir really! Then I come back to England and a couple of day later every blogger and her dog is talking about the new H&M make up range. Honestly, I had no idea! Anyway, as I was in London the other day I couldn’t resist treating myself to a few pieces to review on the blog. I don’t usually do beauty post’s but I did enjoy this one so who knows, there may be more to come! I’m always looking for great products and at H&M prices who can say no? I’m trying to overhaul my beauty bag at the moment so if there’s any products you can’t live without then let me in on your beauty secrets! So once I’d decided I was going to buy a few bit’s and had justified that it was “for the good of the blog”  I went a bit crazy. Each piece is so cheap that I actually ended up spending around £25.00 – but to be fair that’s pretty good for the amount I got! The first piece I picked up was the bronzer, mine had run out so technically I did need this one anyway! Then I got some eyeshadow to try, I don’t really wear eyeshadow so I guess you could say my opinion on the quality will be worthless but hey I’ll give it to you anyway! I also got some nail varnish and some lip vinyl which I had never heard of before (so behind the times), I’d describe it as like a lipstick but it goes on like lip gloss. Of course I already had my lipstick from Sweden and I couldn’t resist a face mask in it’s cute packaging! This face mask was incredible. So refreshing and my skin feels amazing, definitely my favourite piece I tried which I’ll be stocking up on next time I go near a store!I’m not a huge fan of this bronzer, now I always have trouble when I switch to a different bronzer, I don’t know about you but I always seem to have trouble adjusting to the new shade and end up looking like I’ve come back from 2 weeks in Tenerife (for a normal person, for me that would just mean burnt!). Anyway, I’ve been rocking a darker skin tone thanks to my inability of knowing when to put the bronzer down and step away. I also found its quite loose, you know how sometimes bronzers just turn to powder the second a brush touches them? It’s one of those so I have a feeling it will go down super fast! Anyway I might adjust after a couple of weeks and be raving about how amazing it is. So we’ll see!As I said before I’ve never used eye shadow before and as a result…
