  • Mixing it up

    Mixing it up

When it comes to my jewellery I’m a bit unconventional. I’ve always been told that in life, there’s two kinds of people, those that wear silver and those that wear gold. Me however, I like both. Not so bad your thinking, one day you feel like wearing silver, you wear silver. One day you feel like wearing gold, you wear gold. No! I’m not talking either/or here guys, I’m talking about and. Silver and gold, and hey why not and rose gold whilst were at it? I know a lot of people box wearing gold and silver together in the same category as not cutting your toenails on a Sunday and putting an umbrella up inside, but I ain’t one of those! I love the clash and I know I’m not the only one, recently, it’s not only become more acceptable but I feel like the clashing of metals has almost become a jewellery trend in itself. The lovely people over at Magpie on the run noticed my unsavoury love for mixing it up a bit and sent me some beautiful pieces to style and clash up. I mean look, one of their rings even has silver and gold together on one ring, they know me so well! If you are like me and love the clash metals then you can treat yourself (or someone else) to something beautiful from the Magpie on the run shop with 20% off using the code ‘LSM20’, you can thank me later!   *Watch: Urban Watch | Bracelet: Primark | *Necklace: Magpie on the run | *Rose Gold Ring: Magpie on the run | *Silver Pointed Ring: Stroem Design | *Silver and Gold V Ring: Magpie on the Run

    The Happy Checklist

    The Happy Checklist

One of my guilty pleasures when I have some spare time on my hands is to scour the net for other fashion blogs, reading months back and getting totally hooked for far too long! When I was indulging myself the other day I came across this Happy Checklist from Chapter Friday. The concept of making time in your everyday life for small moments that can bring you a little happiness is something that really appealed to me! If your a regular reader of my blog you’ll know I’m very much a crusader of all things mindfulness, constantly looking for things to bring me happiness and positivity. So when I saw this I thought, I’m in. I’m not great at sticking to order so to start off I thought I would choose an easy one, to treat myself to a magazine I love. I’m actually a subscriber to Elle magazine yet I never seem to find the time to sit down and read it. In the corner of my room I have a steadily building pile of unread copies forming, so I decided to take some time out to indulge myself in a cup of tea and a good old magazine session. I think you should try it too! Each task is so simple and easy yet brings small moments of joy to your everyday life, if this list isn’t quite to your liking, why don’t you take a moment to think about what makes you tick and make your own list! I’d definitely add taking my dog to the field for an early morning play to the list, seeing her happy little face brings me so much joy, I can’t think of a better way to start the day!

    Lace Love

    Lace Love

Hi, my names Sinead and I’ve been a cold shoulder addict for a month. My particular weakness is anything white, crochet or lace. My dirty little secrets out and now I’m free to bare my shoulders to the world! So when the opportunity to work with Rare London came up, this playsuit was the obvious choice, I mean look at those shoulders, the lace detailing, the scallop edge.. divine. I wish I was going on holiday tomorrow, this little beauty is going to look spectacular on the streets of Rhodes! It’s quite a dressy piece, Rare London generally are known for their amazing dresses and party ready pieces, but as a casual jeans and t shirt kinda gal I decided to style it how I would wear it. It’s definitely a versatile piece, I’d wear it with heels on a girls night out but I’d also wear it how I’ve styled it here on holiday or to go for lunch!     You can get my playsuit here, or view the whole Rare London collection here!

    Style Inspiration : Cold Shoulder

    Style Inspiration : Cold Shoulder

Pretty much everything I’ve brought in the last few weeks is missing one vital ( or not so vital) piece, the shoulders. i don’t know what it is about a top with no shoulders that get’s me so excited but I’m just loving it right now. Even with a pair of jeans they look super summery and in a dress or playsuit it’s just ir – es – ist – a – ble !! There’s nothing like no shoulders that says SUMMER, honestly guys, you heard it here first, shoulders are so last season. So since I’m totally obsessed I’ve currently got baskets brimming here there and everywhere with shoulder-less goodies on every site you can think of. I thought I would share my cold shoulder love with you guys and pick out some of my favourites on the web!

    The Gift of Generosity

    The Gift of Generosity

One of my main mantras in life is to always try to be positive and treat others how you expect to be treated yourself! I’m a firm believer that a small gesture of goodwill from yourself to someone else will not only make their day, but it might also make them more inclined to help others themselves, continuing a chain of goodwill! I often have generous thoughts and want to help people out, but would you believe that I actually stop myself because I don’t know how they’ll react and don’t want to ’embarrass’ myself . . . I know it’s ridiculous now that I think about it! A month or so ago me and my boyfriend went to Cambridge for the day and after a few hours of some hard core shopping my feet were severely blistered! After purchasing some plasters we headed back to the car and on the way I saw a girl limping with blood on the back of her foot. I said to my boyfriend I’m going to give her one of my plasters, to which he responded ” don’t you’ll embarrass me’ isn’t it awful that we would actually stop helping a stranger in case we embarrass ourselves!? For the record, I did give her the plaster and she was extremely grateful!! Anyway, I’ve kind of gone off subject here, but my new thing is that I will try and do at least one good deed, big or small a day and fight past the feelings of embarrassment to just do it! So when I was approached by SVP Jewellery about a collaboration which perfectly incorporated my new found generosity I jumped at the chance! I was gifted the most beautiful Blue Chalcedony Bon Bon Ring and set a lovely little challenge. The Blue Chalcedony is said to instill feelings of generosity and goodwill, therefore my task was to choose someone who means a lot to me and to gift them with this beautiful piece of jewellery. I know this doesn’t sound like much of a challenge but you haven’t seen the ring. A Faceted Blue Chalcedony set in 20 carat gold vermeil on sterling silver, and even better it’s adjustable so you can wear it on any finger! I did not want to give it away! I chose my sister, She’s not only my bestest buddy and partner in crime, but she’s also my blog photographer and we pretty much keep each other sane. I definitely wouldn’t have been able to create such a beautiful blog without the great imagery and she never complains, always helping me with new ideas and brainstorming. She definitely deserves this the most so I wanted to give her the ring to show her how much she means to me, and hopefully whenever she wears the ring she’ll not only think of me, but remember what the ring stands for passing on her own generosity!
