Khaki Love

I don’t know if you’ve noticed (you definitely have) but I’m just a tad on the obsessive side when it comes to the colour khaki. I can’t stop buying it, I have issues and I need to know, is it okay to wear a khaki coat with a matching jumper and matching shoes? Anyway, seen as it’s all I love at the moment I thought I would do a post dedicated to my colour of the moment and truely indulge in some khaki lovin’. Black Jeans, Blue Shirt #nexttake12

Black Jeans, Blue Shirt #nexttake12

Okay, so Lana said blue jeans, white shirt but hey, any kinda jeans with any kinda shirt and I’m happy. I’ve actually surprised myself recently with my love for shirts, white t-shirts are usually my everyday uniform but recently I’ve shifted to shirts and seriously, I’ve been missing out. As I’m the casual-ist of casual dressers I usually wear my shirts undone but with the pretty tie detail this Next shirt called out to be buttoned right to the top. I actually really like it, who knew? I could be buttoning up more of my shirts in the future, watch this space (I can already sense your anticipation to see me in shirts done all of the way up). I’ve gone for a smart-ish look, well about as smart as I get. I think I look quite grown up!! And yes I am aware that I’m 25 and therefore technically a grown up.  What do you think to this look? How would you style the shirt? Please can we also just ignore the fact that I have a claw hand? Ok thanks! I was actually surprised by this shirt from Next, I usually dismiss Next as being mumsy but it’s totally not. After receiving this shirt I thought I’d take a little look in store and they have the nicest shoes and bags as well, I picked up a pair of jeans for just £22 which I was gobsmacked at (I usually get them from Topshop where they’re £42). I also noticed this bag which I’m totally going to have to go back for. As a result i’ve now signed up to the directory (woops) and did you know that they also do next day delivery if you order before midnight? I tried this out the other month actually, I was struggling to find something for a wedding and my original outfit just wasn’t looking right (you know the feeling?) so I panic ordered a few dresses and was shocked to discover that I had till midnight. And in case you’re curious, it came the next morning, I mean how do they even do that?! ‘That’ Zara Coat

‘That’ Zara Coat

Picture this, I’m in a busy crowded room, there’s people all around me and suddenly, she catches my eye. In that moment, nothing else mattered and I knew she had to be mine. I made my way across the room oblivious to my surroundings and grasped her warm soft fur. Let me just stop for a minute – yes, I’m talking about a coat, and no, I don’t think I’m being dramatic. So you’ve probably seen me raving about this already on twitter, instagram and every other social media outlet available. Let’s just say I love it so much that I’ve dedicated this post to the one, the only, Zara Coat. Yes, I did get my wonderful photographer friend Alex Wallace to take multiple shots of me in the jacket from every possible angle, it’s worth it, you’ll see. It’s so warm and cosy and it’s definitely one of the must have styles this season. I don’t want to piss you off or anything but I’m actually praying for cold weather so that I can wear it! I know this jacket is selling like hot cakes and is unavailable online so I’ll link a few (cheaper) alternatives, you need to stop what you’re doing (maybe finish reading my post) and go and buy this! Can I just take a minute here to explain two things that you must not judge me on. Firstly, yes, I am aware that my legs look like I live in Iceland but my face is more Marbella. I was feeling very ill when we shot this and I don’t know about you but I always go a bit overboard on the bronzer when I’m feeling ill – and just in general life. Secondly, I know you’re looking at these jeans and I blame Topshop. These are their Jamie style which I love for the fit and the thicker denim, but those rips just keep on growing and it ain’t a pretty site. I did actually buy a new pair of jeans from Next of all places today so I’m pretty sure you’ll be seeing those soon enough. Has anyone else got their winter coat yet or is just me? Also, is it possible to be in love with a piece of clothing? I think I amHere’s some similar styles, I was going to try and be clever and add clickable photos but wordpress won’t let me put the picture’s in a row and I’m too much of a perfectionist. If anyone out there’s a wordpress wizz then help!

Double Denim Days

Double Denim Days

I love simple outfit’s like this, I’m all about simplicity when it comes to getting dressed, if it’s too faffy and I’m not comfortable then I’m not wearing it! I wasn’t quite ready to rock the double blue denim look so I thought I’d pull out my old trusty wax coated skinnies. I would actually wear these all the time if they weren’t a size too small, I have to seriously consider how much eating/ sitting down I’ll be doing when I put these on in the morning.I’m not being funny but I think these sunnies can make any outfit look chic. I literally won’t go anywhere without them, come rain or shine they’re in my bag! These are the shoes that tore my feet to shreds last week in London and left me bleeding in multiple places. I do however love them dearly and will be slipping my scarred feet back into them the second the blisters have healed!Love the fact that my glasses are on wonky here, I wonder if they actually look like this all the time and don’t really fit me? I know I’ve raved about this shirt quite possibly three times now? but seriously – love it. the quality is incredible for the price and I’ve also worn it as a light weight jacket which looks really nice – maybe I’ll do another double denim look with my denim skirt? Watch this space! Don’t forget to leave me a comment! I’d love to hear your thoughts! 50 Shades of Brown

50 Shades of Brown

I thought 50 shades of brown was quite an apt name for this post as I pretty much look like the brown paint swatch section in Homebase. I got this skirt from Primark and I’m pretty sure it was like £8? Even as I’m saying this I’m thinking it’s wrong but no, I’m quite sure it was under a tenner which is clearly why I couldn’t say no, duh! I think you can totally get away with wearing skirts with bare legs when you wear boots and a jumper, I’ve seen so many bloggers with knee length boots which look perfect for wearing a skirt in winter. I’m not really a tights kinda gal, no offence if you love them but I just think they’re so gross! Definitely a last resort slash only suitable for work in my opinion!!I’m loving how coordinated my look is here, the sunglasses, scarf and skirt look made for each other. I’d love to say I planned it but I definitely didn’t. Also, how amazing are these khaki boots from River Island? I can already tell these will be stuck to my feet all winter! What do you think of my all brown look? I’d love to hear what you think!
