That Suede Coat

Coat : Forever 21 // Jumper : H&M // Jeans : Topshop // Boots : Next // Bag : Zara I would have begged, borrowed or stole to get this coat a couple of months ago! When I went on to Forever 21’s website and saw the price of it, under £60 for a genuine suede coat, I knew it was going to be mine. Round about this time my boyfriend had been asking about what I wanted for Christmas. Silly me put it on the list instead of just buying it, and this is where the emotional blackmail begins. When I first mentioned it I said I really wanted it and by the next week I’d threatened him with crying on christmas day if it wasn’t there. Constantly ringing him to say I’ll buy it don’t worry, emails with discount codes, more emotional blackmail and finally the magical day came with this beauty under the tree. . . totally worth it! I can’t stop wearing this exact outfit – well these jeans, that suede coat and the snake boots! I feel like because it’s so fitted it’s a real ladies coat. I can literally wear whatever I want underneath and I look smart! I’m telling you girls, all you need is the right pair of shoes with the right jacket and you’re gonna look good! All Photographs by Alexandra Wallace So! What do you think to my new coat?! Do you think it was worth the months of moaning and emotional blackmailing that it took for me to get it? I do! Let me know what you think and of course as always if you love my blog and you love me then why on EARTH are you not following me on Bloglovin?! Follow me here!! Simple Neutral Styling

Simple Neutral Styling

*Jacket : Fashion Bazaar // Jumper : Primark // Jeans : Topshop // Watch : Larsson & Jennings // *Boots : Public Desire Location, Location, Location Firstly can we just take a minute to have a look at the location of this shoot? What do we think? I think we’ve established the fact that I go out specifically to take pictures and don’t just have a photographer at hand to shoot me wearing what I wear everyday! This is a cute set of shops outside a hotel where I live and I think it looks so Chelsea and cute! I think I’ll definitely be going back here to shoot again! Unfortunately the lighting was going a bit so we had to use a flash which to me is a no no but Kirk assured me that it would be fine and hey, turns out you can trust a photographer! Neutral Styling As we all know I’m a huge fan of neutral styling. If you cut me open I would be camel and grey through and through! I’m really loving this jacket at the moment, I’ve got so much more wear out of it than I thought and honestly it goes with everything I wear. I think in the summer I would even wear it in an all white look – too crazy? I have to admit that half of this outfit is stolen property. Only the jacket and boots are mine and the jeans and jumper are my sisters. Oh they joy of still living at home! I can’t believe she got this jumper from Primark, it’s so soft! I’ll be stealing this a lot more often I think! Also love the charcoal-y black colour of these jeans and the rips haven’t got out of control like the ones on my jeans yet! Making Happiness a Habit

Making Happiness a Habit

I love a good dose of happiness, who doesn’t? So I thought I would do a little post for you guys getting back to my mindfulness roots with a few of my top tips to create little habits that will bring you more happiness in everyday life, I call them the happiness habits! Speak the Lingo I am SO guilty of this! Using passive words, like ‘I wish‘ or ‘I should‘ or ‘I might‘, passive words! Use active words, next time you find yourself saying ‘I should do this‘ turn it into ‘I will do this‘. I used to always say ‘I wish I was a big fashion blogger like We Wore What, I love her appartment and her wardrobe looks amazing’ now I say ‘I can’t wait till I’m as successful as her and have a wardrobe like that!’ some people see it as arrogance, I see it as determination!! Don’t be a yes man I am 100% not guilty of this! I used to be before I learnt not to be. There is a huge sense of freedom to saying no when you don’t want to do something. Why should you say yes just because you’re free? If you don’t want to do something then don’t. Laugh Your Way To Happiness I’m reading a book called Laugh your way to happiness at the minute and the science behind laughter is pretty incredible! It’s the same with smiling, with laughing you can fake it and still reap the benefits. Forcing yourself to smile will still instantly lift your mood as will faking a laugh! Forcing yourself to laugh also makes spontaneous laughter come more easily! Spread Kindness A small act of kindness can make a huge impact on someone else’s day and let’s be honest, it makes you feel pretty damn good about yourself too! Now I’m not saying you should only do these things to make yourself feel good but . . well why not if it’s helping someone else out as well? Even just letting someone go before you in the queue or carrying someones suitcase up a set of stairs, every little helps! I once gave an old lady that had hurt her ankle a lift back to her car when I saw her limping up the road, I buzzed off that good deed for a good week or so! Listen I’m the worst for this one, I can’t focus on what someone’s saying for more than 5 minutes before I’m thinking about what I’ve got to do later on. 10 minutes later I’ll tune back in and think, shit.. just nod and smile. It’s almost like another good deed really because lets face it, you can tell the difference when someones actually listening to you and when someone does it gives you a true sense of worth. Showing genuine interest in someone and what they’re saying doesn’t take any extra time than day dreaming about what you’re going to eat for tea but it does make a difference to the speaker! Let…

Grey Tones X Suede Jacket // Part 2

Grey Tones X Suede Jacket // Part 2

*Jacket : Your Shores// Jumper : Zara (sold out) // Jeans : H&M // Boots : Public Desire // Bag : Zara Suede Lovin’ I thought today would be a great day to share the second instalment of my love for leather jackets, and the second jacket that was sent to me by the lovely people over at Your Shores. If you’ve been following me for a while you’ll remember my beige/camel coloured suede jacket (which I still very much love, it’s just been side lined a bit for the winter) that is super old and I could never find a link to. Well people, here it is in grey! I was so shocked when I saw it on the site and couldn’t resist getting it in another colour to add to my ever growing jacket collection! I thought I’d go for a tonal look with the grey jacket – I don’t have grey shoes or bag but blacks close enough isn’t it? These are super old jeans from H&M, if you can call them jeans. . they’re jeggings which I never would have thought I’d be wearing but I think it’s ok because; one, they’re jeany material and two, I would never wear them so you could see the fastening, or lack of! I actually got this jumper in the Zara black Friday sale and it’s fast becoming a firm favourite alongside the good old rust one. I purposely got it because it’s a similar shape and thought the other one could do with a bit of a rest! Texture I love the details in this picture! you can really see all of the different grey tones and the textures together look pretty damn great if I do say so myself! Also, can we just appreciate how much I love the below picture? Showing that boot heel off to it’s full potential! Let me know what you think to a tonal look! I feel like because I wear so many neutrals it was only a matter of time before this happened!!! Also don’t forget to follow me on Bloglovin’ so you never miss a post! And make a little old blogger very happy (thats me) you can follow me here! All photography by Kirk Schwarz you can find his website here and his instagram here! Love for the Choker

Love for the Choker

I’m not sure if what I’m talking about is actually a choker, I guess a choker’s just a tight necklace of some kind so yes, yes it is! I never really saw myself as a chocker lover and when the trend came out I have to say I put it down to a trend for teenage girls and thought nothing more of it. The constant girl crush that is Danielle Bernstein has brought it back to my attention recently through the gift that is instagram and I have to say, I’m liking it. Maybe it’s just the way she wears it, maybe it’s just the way she wears anything? Firstly, I love the choker from Rumi Neely’s brand AREYOUAMI and I’m pretty sure thats the one I’ve got my heart set on, but I also love the velvet ones. Either way my favourites are definitely the ones that tie in a bow – it makes it less harsh and they also look great layered a la Danielle Bernstein.Photos taken from Danielle Bernstein’s Instagram Account ‘weworewhat’ I’ve linked some of my favourites below that I would buy if I had the money, however money is becoming an issue since I’ve booked travelling and then my car insurance decided to come out the week I didn’t get paid so I’m contemplating a homemade one. I mean how hard could it be? If a ribbon would work then I may be able to steal some from my sisters workshop whilst she’s sleeping (unless she’s reading this) if not, leather from a haberdashery shop? Watch this space! Don’t forget to follow me on Bloglovin’ to make sure you never miss a post! And of course if I do find a DIY alternative I will share it with you guys!
